Gotham Gang Actor From Robert Pattinson's The Batman Joins DC's Titans Cast

Robin, The Batman

As Warner Bros. works to get the DC Extended Universe back on track with releases for The Suicide Squad and the Snyder Cut of Justice League, HBO Max is on track to bring a third full season of Titans. After two seasons of the series, which initially kicked off in late 2018, Titans has quickly gained momentum as one of the more successful DC properties currently running.

Centered around a more adult version of the Teen Titans from DC Comics, this series has been drumming up excitement after its presentation at the virtual DC FanDome event in Summer 2020. Jason Todd's transformation into Red Hood, along with additions of classic Batman characters like Barbara Gordon and Scarecrow, will be key plot points to follow as Season 3 gets underway.

On top of these exciting additions, reports are hinting at the addition of an actor who already has some DC experience under his belt.

JAY LYCURGO JOINS TITANS

Variety is reporting that Titans on HBO Max has cast Jay Lycurgo in the role of Tim Drake for Season 3. Drake is described as follows in the article:

"... a streetwise kid who’s managed to grow up on the toughest streets without losing his indelible belief in heroism. His easy-going demeanor is backed up by a near-genius mind, a natural detective with a perception of detail far beyond his years. Fans of the “Batman” comics will recall that Drake served with Batman as the third Robin."

Lycurgo followed this announcement on social media with a post on his Twitter account:

TITANS ADDS A SECOND ROBIN

Tim Drake will be the second version of Robin to join Titans after Brendan Thwaites' Dick Grayson, who eventually takes on the mantle of Nightwing. There is no word whether Lycurgo's character will have teamed up with the Caped Crusader in this series' story yet, and his relationship with Grayson will certainly be something to keep an eye on.

This will also mark Lycurgo's second major appearance in a DC property after playing a small role in 2022's The Batman. It seems highly unlikely that he will play Tim Drake in the DCEU movie after being seen as a thug in the original trailer from DC FanDome, and Titans should serve as a great opportunity for a more prominent part with the popular comic book show.

Tim Drake marks the second recent Batman legacy character to join Titans after Savannah Welch was announced as Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl. It's unclear whether Lycurgo will join the main cast as a regular or as a guest star, although his presence alone as Robin should give the show a new level of depth and intrigue going forward.

Season 3 of Titans will complete filming in June 2021, and there is no set release date as of yet.
