The Mandalorian: Rosario Dawson Celebrates Ahsoka Day With Behind-the-Scenes Makeup Video
The Mandalorian may be over for another season but what a season it was. Not only did Mando season 2 bring Boba Fett back to Star Wars, but it also gave fans the long-awaited live-action debut of The Clone Wars character Ahsoka Tano. Rumors about Ahsoka's appearance were rampant long before The Mandalorian aired, with viewers hoping Rosario Dawson would take the role, and in Episode 5 of Season 2, all prayers were answered.
In Chapter 13: The Jedi, Dawson looked every bit the part of Ahsoka. Her role in the episode provided the Mandalorian and his young Jedi companion some much-needed guidance, as well as a name for Baby Yoda (aka Grogu). It also gave an update on Ahsoka's journey since her last appearance at the end of Star Wars Rebels.

BRINGING AHSOKA TANO TO LIFE
January 29th is known as Ahsoka Tano day in the Star Wars fandom as it marks the day that the character was first introduced in The Clone Wars back in 2008. Having made the role her own, it's nice to see Dawson engaging in the celebrations while also paying tribute to the original actress, Ashley Eckstein. Some were initially upset that Eckstein wouldn't be playing Ahsoka in the live-action space, but there seems to be nothing but love between the two actresses.
Dawson looked exactly like her animated counterpart when she appeared as Ahsoka in The Mandalorian so this video is an intriguing look at the behind-the-scenes work that went into her character. Dawson clearly spent a lot of time in the makeup chair each day, but all that hard work definitely paid off.
Ahsoka's live-action debut was nothing short of epic, particularly with the reveal that she was in search of Grand Admiral Thrawn. It's unclear if Ahsoka will be returning to The Mandalorian, but fans definitely have more of Dawson's portrayal to look forward to in her own spin-off show, Ahsoka.
