WandaVision: Evidence Suggests Surprise Extra Episode
WandaVision is half-way into its impressive debut season on Disney+. Thus far, fans are loving the wacky yet unusual approach of the series, leading everyone to speculate how Wanda managed to create a seemingly perfect life in Westview alongside a resurrected Vision.
Without any context, WandaVision started off with a sitcom format that is clearly inspired by classics like Bewitched and I Love Lucy. This led to a barrage of questions from viewers, asking how the powerful MCU couple ended up in this situation.
From that point on, it became clear during the next set of episodes, that not everything is what it seems, with “Episode 4" providing a real-world perspective into things through S.W.O.R.D. That said, the show is poised to give more concrete answers in the coming weeks, ultimately leading to the much-awaited finale during “Episode 9.”
Now, it appears that the original nine-episode plan is much bigger than expected, as evidenced by a recent social media post.
A BONUS EPISODE FOR WANDAVISION?
In a recent Facebook post, STW Talent Agency indicated that their client, Selena Anduze, will be in “Episode 10” of WandaVision. This could hint that the MCU series will have 10 episodes, instead of the already-announced nine-episode slate.
Anduze played a S.W.O.R.D. agent named “Agent Rodriguez" during “Episode 4" of WandaVision.
A SURPRISING MCU FINALE
On the surface, it's possible that this could only be an error on the talent agency's side, but there's also the likelihood that they are actually telling the truth. Surprises are already a common thing for Marvel Studios, and the huge reveal that WandaVision has 10 episodes is right in their wheelhouse.
If WandaVision does indeed have a bonus episode, the story possibilities are endless. There's a good chance that “Episode 9" is the true finale of the show, and “Episode 10" could serve as the epilogue, tying the series to the core narrative of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, or even the currently untitled Spider-Man 3.
On the flip side, it is also likely that “Episode 10” is the actual finale of WandaVision. In a way, it makes sense that Marvel Studios could be adding a surprise episode, since it lives up to the promise of showcasing new MCU content every week. By doing this, March 12 will be occupied by the rumored tenth episode, which is a week from the Disney+ premiere of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on March 19.
It remains to be seen if other MCU shows will have a bonus episode, but it should be worth finding out when those projects debut on the streaming platform.
All in all, WandaVision is no doubt a must-see, and it will be interesting to witness how Wanda's fabricated reality will be resolved in the coming weeks (whether in Episode 9 or 10).
