The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: New Footage Teases Captain America Doubt & Hacking Plot

After Super Bowl LV ended, Marvel fans began analyzing every detail of the second full trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier set to premier on Disney+. In two minutes of new footage, Marvel Studios teased an exciting, action-packed story filled with tension and excitement for Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan's leading characters.

Following up from the debut trailer that debuted for Disney Investor Day, more of the plot details for the show revealed themselves in the Super Bowl trailer. Sam and Bucky are clearly working through some issues that have built up since Captain America: Civil War, and Daniel Brühl's Helmut Zemo looks to be in full villain mode after his moderate successes in that same movie.

While the full trailer did its job to tease what's coming, there are ever so slight differences between the two versions of the latest trailer.

FOUR IMAGES MADE FOR TV

The 30-second Super Bowl trailer for Marvel Studios' The Falcon and the Winter Soldier included four shots that weren't seen in the full two-minute trailer released online.

HACKING IN PLAY FOR SAM AND BUCKY?

While these four shots don't give too much away in terms of plot, the third image gives an indication that there will be some sort of hacking plot at some point in the series. Whether Sam and Bucky have to take back the Captain America gear themselves or go after something else is a mystery.

The first two shots give a fantastic look at Sam honoring the Captain America legacy, which is especially telling considering the theories that this show may see Steve Rogers' ultimate passing come into play. He also gets another spinning action shot, likely indicating that there will be multiple versions of this shot, including the one from the full trailer as well.

It's still almost six weeks until all of this footage is seen in full context, but Marvel Studios did its job at the Super Bowl and built up considerable hype for the show. Once WandaVision comes to an end on March 5, the focus will turn to a much more grounded series with as much action as any of Marvel's biggest movies. Safe to say, Marvel fans are in for an absolutely wild ride.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will premiere on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
