The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Stuntman Teases Sebastian Stan's Humor In Marvel Show
Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is starting off with the most mind-bending property in franchise history with WandaVision on Disney+. After the show's first season concludes its run, the MCU will turn focus to a much more grounded story in Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Set in a post-Avengers: Endgame world, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes will be taking on new threats like the Flag Smashers while also finding themselves facing familiar foes like Daniel Brühl's Helmut Zemo. The specifics on the plot are still a mystery with just over a month until the show premieres, but just from the trailers released, it's clear that this series will have the makings of an MCU classic.
But on top of all of the action, the new team-up show will also dig deeper into the relationship between Sam and Bucky. Their dynamic has brought plenty of laughs through their time together in the MCU, and according to one of the show's crew members, that will continue to be the case when the series drops in March.
FALCON STUNTMAN RAVES ABOUT WINTER SOLDIER HILARITY
In a recent interview with the SUPES YouTube channel, stuntman Aaron Toney from Marvel Studios' The Falcon and the Winter Soldier discussed how much he loves working with this show's team. Specifically, he talked about Bucky Barnes actor Sebastian Stan's comedic timing on set, along with how excited he is for the world to see "how he actually kind of is.":
"I’ve known them both for a while now. Seb’s hilarious. He plays this stoic guy, but what’s great is that we’re getting to see another side of him. That’s the sort of Seb I know on set. He’s very dry, but he’s also super quick and funny. So even…. the trailer scene where, like 'What’s the plan?' And Mackie jumps out, and he’s like 'So no plan?' That’s the Seb I know, so I’m like, 'Oh my god.' Everybody’s getting to see a little bit of Sebastian, how he actually kind of is."
He’s still playing Bucky, but that’s the sort of, you’re getting to see a character now. He’s not just this machine, he’s slowly inched his way into this. I think it’s gonna be a lot of fun to see Bucky."

EXPECT LAUGHS FROM MARVEL'S METAL-ARMED MAN
Sebastian Stan has surely had his fair share of comedic moments in the MCU, although most of his screen time has shown him dealing with tragedy and trauma at almost every turn. Before his presumed death in Captain America: The First Avenger, Bucky was a pure charmer with a smooth sense of humor as he embodied the perfect American soldier.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will see Bucky continue to rediscover himself after years of torture and mind control at the hands of HYDRA, and his sense of humor is slowly coming back with in this new adventure. His discussion with Sam about having a plan or not and their impromptu staring contest are the early laughter-inducing moments. Considering there are six hours worth of story in this show, expect that to only be the beginning.
It's especially refreshing hearing this said about one of the longest running stars in the MCU. Sebastian Stan is going on a decade's worth of time playing Bucky with Marvel Studios, and he should have more than enough opportunity to shine in his first time headlining a project.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is set to premiere on Disney+ on Friday, March 19.
