The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Zemo's Villainous Intentions Teased In New Trailer
During Super Bowl LV, Marvel Studios and Disney+ expectedly broke the internet with the second full trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. With 120 seconds of new footage to watch featuring Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, mostly at each other’s throats, a crazy new story is about to unfold with twists and turns throughout.
Besides the two leads, plenty of side characters shine in this spot thanks to so much footage coming for the first time. Sharon Carter returned from her five-year hiatus after Captain America: Civil War and the mysterious Flag Smashers saw more screen time after debuting in the Disney Investor Day trailer.
Additionally, the footage saw the return of a major MCU villain in only his second full appearance.
ZEMO GETS EXPLOSIVE
In the Super Bowl spot for Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Daniel Brühl’s Helmut Zemo is seen using explosives in what appears to be a container yard. He is going fully down the villainous route in his second MCU appearance.
During the action, Zemo is seen on top of some shipping containers as he watches his explosives do their work on a crowd of people below.
Some of his dialogue during the trailer includes lines like “Superheroes cannot be allowed to exist,” along with “I have no intention to leave my work unfinished”
ZEMO PICKING UP WHERE HE LEFT OFF
Daniel Brühl's Hemlut Zemo started as the primary antagonist in Captain America: Civil War as he planned the bombing in Vienna and did what he could to tear the Avengers apart. This all came as a revenge mission after the battle of Sokovia from Avengers: Age of Ultron killed his wife and son.
Listening to his dialogue, it’s clear that Zemo isn’t giving up his mission after partially succeeding the first time. It’s unclear what exactly his end goal is this time, but he is showing himself as a force to be reckoned with in this new trailer.
Bucky and Sam will have their work cut out for them as Brühl's Zemo reins terror all over the world. Throw in his classic comic book look on top of his villainous scheme, and the Marvel fandom is in for something truly special.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will begin streaming on Disney+ March 19, 2021.
