Gwyneth Paltrow Says She Would Return To Marvel on One Condition
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is back up and running, already having released one project this year with much more to come. Early entries seem largely focused on stories surrounding existing characters like those in WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Black Widow, while others later in the year will bring new faces to the MCU for the first time.
While the franchise continues on as one large interconnected story, Phase 4 will serve partially as a new chapter to help close out the Infinity Saga after it ended in 2019. With some actors’ time working with Marvel Studios seemingly ending with Avengers: Endgame, there’s still a chance for almost anybody to continue with their roles going forward.
This appears to be the case with one of the MCU’s original stars, although it does come with a condition.
GWENYTH PALTROW OPEN TO MCU RETURN
In a recent interview with the PEOPLE TV show, Pepper Potts actress Gwenyth Paltrow revealed that she would be open to returning to the MCU to reprise her role in a future project. Paltrow did say that she would be more open to it if it were “a small part” which didn’t require many days of filming.:
"I think if it was a small part that I could do in like a day or two, I would of course be open to that."
FUTURE MCU APPEARANCES ONLY PEPPERED IN
Gwenyth Paltrow has played the role of Pepper Potts since the first Iron Man released in 2008. Adding to the MCU’s story as Tony Stark’s assistant before she became the mother of his daughter, starring in all three Iron Man movies and making small appearances in Spider-Man: Homecoming and three of the four Avengers films.
It seems to make sense that Paltrow only wants to come back in a limited role going forward, especially after Avengers: Endgame brought the death of Pepper’s husband, Tony Stark. However, should Paltrow want to come back, there are certainly a couple of avenues to make this return happen.
There are two unique Disney+ shows releasing sometime in 2022 that branch off from the Iron Man legacy with Don Cheadle’s Armor Wars and Dominique Thorne’s Ironheart. With Pepper Potts still holding a high position at Stark Industries, she could certainly play a part in helping both Colonel James Rhodes or Riri Williams should they need it.
As of now, there are no set plans for Gwenyth Paltrow to return as Pepper Potts in the MCU.
