Shazam 2: Hollywood Icon Helen Mirren Joins Zachary Levi Sequel

Warner Bros. is currently riding the successes of Zack Snyder's Justice League, although the studio is firmly set to continue working on its canon story within the DC Extended Universe. This will include multiple sequels coming into play like Jason Momoa's Aquaman 2 in 2022 and Zachary Levi's Shazam!: Fury of the Gods in 2023.

In terms of the Shazam! sequel, the team behind the movie has already been teasing some of the epic action set to arrive as Billy Batson learns how to utilize his god-like alter ego's powers more effectively. Levi will also be joined by some elite talent such as Rachel Zeigler and longtime DC fan Sinbad in undisclosed roles.

That cast gains a new member thanks to the latest news blast. This time, not only is the character confirmed, but the role will be filled by one of the industry's biggest names.

The Wrap is reporting that Hollywood legend Helen Mirren has joined the cast of the Zachary Levi-starring Shazam!: Fury of the Gods. The Academy Award winner will be playing the movie's main villain in the role of Hespera, a daughter of Atlas.
