The Suicide Squad: New Images of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn Released
Fans of DC have a lot to look forward to next week with the release of Zack Snyder's Justice League, but beyond that, there isn't long to wait until James Gunn's The Suicide Squad hits screens.
Gunn's film is the second big-screen outing for the team of villains after David Ayer's Suicide Squad released back in 2016. This time around the team is much larger and there are plenty of new faces joining such as John Cena as Peacemaker, Michael Rooker as Savant, and Idris Elba as Bloodsport. Also returning to their roles from the first film are veterans Viola Davis as Amanda Waller and Margot Robbie as the iconic Harley Quinn.
With The Suicide Squad scheduled for release on August 6, marketing for the new film is starting to ramp up. The cast has already been spotted on magazine covers and in a range of posters for the film, but new material is continuing to roll out in anticipation of the film's release.
NEW IMAGES REVEAL HARLEY QUINN IN THE SUICIDE SQUAD
Via Reddit, new promotional images of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn in The Suicide Squad have surfaced online.
Judging by these images it looks like Harley will be getting some new outfits for her next big-screen appearance.
It also looks like Harley might be getting a new weapon in The Suicide Squad in place of her usual baseball bat.
HARLEY QUINN IS GETTING A NEW LOOK
Margot Robbie has already teased that audiences will see more sides of Harley Quinn in her next film, but it looks like there'll be some new looks as well. The first costume was seen briefly in The Suicide Squad's teaser trailer but the second and third images seem to show Harley in this new outfit, minus the leather jacket. Birds of Prey saw Harley in a range of awesome costumes, but this new look seems to draw more from her comic book roots and that of the Arkham video games.
It's unknown what sort of marketing material these images will be used for, but they seem to be following the same retro style of other images promoting the film. David Ayer's Suicide Squad used a highly stylized neon art style for its marketing campaign, and it looks like Warner Bros. is taking a similar approach for The Suicide Squad with a range of comic book-inspired promos.
Audiences can catch The Suicide Squad in cinemas and on HBO Max on August 6.
