WandaVision: New Photos Show Elizabeth Olsen, Kat Dennings & More on Marvel Set
The release of the first episode of Marvel Studios' Assembled for WandaVision gave fans a look at production behind-the-scenes and the thought process that went into making the show. Fans even got a look at several pieces of concept art showing off early looks of Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau and the SWORD base in front of the Hex.
Soon after its release on Disney+, stills from the episode were released by Disney, giving fans a closer look at Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch costume, Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness, and more.
Now, even more photos from the first episode of the docu-series have been released, giving fans more looks at Paul Bettany pre-VFX.
MORE LOOKS AT BETTANY'S MAKE UP
Marvel Studios officially released four more stills from the first episode of Marvel Studios' Assembled, giving fans a closer look at the makeup and production of the studios' first hit series.
Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen are seen together in the opening of the episode “On A Very Special Episode...” where Wanda tries to reassure Vision that everything is fine in Westview in this first still.
Wanda and Vision are together observing their boys with their uncle Pietro, although Paul Bettany is not wearing his yellow cape or gloves. This likely means that this is a photo of the two rehearsing that scene.
Bettany in the dead of night shooting the moment Vision exits the Hex and begins to disintegrate. There are several tennis balls embedded into the ground, likely as references for the effects team.
Kat Dennings' Darcy is shown being confronted by Bettany's Vision pre-VFX, which has been endlessly amusing for the internet to see.
THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS
The still showing Paul Bettany performing without the cape and gloves is still an interesting look at the process. One could imagine Bettany's hands getting too sweaty if he's forced to wear them for hours on end, but, oddly, he didn't bother with the cape either for this rehearsal.
It has to be assumed that the cape is still cumbersome to wear while acting, so going without it for practice makes sense. For a moment, before noticing that Bettany didn't have his gloves either and that it was just a rehearsal, it seemed like Marvel Studios had added the cape during post-production, which wouldn't be a terrible surprise in the industry.
Many little details like that can be noticed in this new series, and it's exhilarating that fans will be getting one for each Marvel Studios film and show, including Black Widow.
