WandaVision's Episode 10 Rumor Debunked

WandaVision Scarlet Witch

Before WandaVision had even released, everyone was scrambling to find out how many episodes were planned. At first, it was just silence from Marvel Studios, but eventually, it was discovered through the resume of a stunt person that Wanda's series would have at least nine episodes. Eventually, Disney released an official press statement saying that WandaVision would feature nine episodes.

Recently, fans found on an STW Talent Agency posting on Facebook that their client, Selena Anduze, would be in “Episode 10” of WandaVision. Immediately, fans began speculating that there was a secret tenth episode set to be revealed, but it seems like there was a miscommunication on someone's end, as director Matt Shakman confirms that there won't be a tenth episode.

NO TENTH EPISODE OF WANDAVISION

In an interview with Screen Rant, director Matt Shakman was asked about the recent theory of a tenth episode for WandaVision waiting in the wings, to which Shakman had no knowledge, No, I haven’t heard this theory. No.”

When pressed further about the possibility of there being a tenth episode at all, Shakman joked, wondering “who would’ve directed it.” Shakman continued, making mention of the new documentary, Assembled, as the first episode will focus on the development and production of Wandavision on March 12 on Disney+.

Shakman concluded by saying that the show will have wrapped the week before, debunking the theory and rumor of a tenth episode.

“I know there was a Making Of episode the following week, so there’s some continuing WandaVision in the Disney+ world the following week. But we’re wrapping up our show.”

CONFUSION DUE TO ASSEMBLED DOCUMENTARY SERIES?

As Shakman himself points out, the week after the finale for WandaVision, the first episode of Assembled will be covering the show and its development. More than likely, “Episode 10” referred to Anduze appearing in the Assembled episode about WandaVision and not a literal tenth episode of the series. Admittedly, many fans jumped the gun on this information due to grids and resumes turning out to be true regarding there being at least nine episodes.

Fans should temper expectations and not feel disappointed when their expectations or theories are not met. Hopefully, the final episode, the longest yet, will wrap up every plot point up to this point while also being a natural lead into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This will come when the episode premieres on Friday, March 5, 2021.
