Amber Heard Shares Photo From Aquaman 2 Training
The DC Extended Universe has plenty of exciting additions planned for the next couple of years, which Warner Bros. hopes will bring a much more favorable sentiment toward the franchise than films from recent memory. Included in this group is Jason Momoa's Aquaman 2, which will look to follow up on the success of the DCEU's highest-grossing movie to date.
Momoa will return to embody the King of Atlantis for his fourth appearance in the DCEU after the hero enjoyed his extended run in Zack Snyder's Justice League on HBO Max. This sequel will bring new faces into the cast such as Pilou Asbaek after his run on the hit series Game of Thrones, while franchise regulars like Oceanmaster actor Patrick Wilson prepare to suit back up for the underwater adventure.
Another returning cast member is Mera actress Amber Heard, who continued to share her excitement for her next DCEU outing on social media.
MERA GETTING INTO FILMING SHAPE
Aquaman 2 star Amber Heard took to Instagram to share an image of herself working out in preparation to reprise her role as Mera. She also included the caption "Alexa, play “Pussy Talk” by City Girl" with an #Aquaman2 hashtag, which can be seen in the post below:
This comes about a week after another post of Heard on set reading and teasing her Aquaman 2 role, which can be seen here:
YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST
With dozens of conflicting rumors about her status in the DCEU's future, Heard continues to push through for her next major movie appearance. As Jason Momoa's biggest co-star in the original Aquaman, it will be interesting to find out where director James Wan and the team at Warner Bros. take the Atlantean queen's story in this blockbuster sequel.
While many of the plot details for Aquaman 2 are still being kept under wraps, it's evident that the movie will look to heavily expand on the massive civilizations that live under the ocean surface. With more than a handful of other solo projects releasing within the DCEU before this one comes at the end of next year, it will be interesting to learn more story details for Mera and the rest of the characters as they come.
Aquaman 2 is in the early stages of filming and is set to debut in theaters on December 16, 2022. Zack Snyder's Justice League is now streaming on HBO Max.
