Justice League: Kilowog's Green Lantern Design Revealed In Official Snyder Cut Art

The Green Lantern Corps. are kind of like the DC Universe's space police and are responsible for keeping the interplanetary peace and fighting space-faring villains.

Hal Jordan is, of course, the Green Lantern of Sector 2814, which encompasses Earth in the pages of DC Comics. The GL's home base planet is called Oa and their organization is overseen by an alien race called The Guardians of the Universe.

Oftentimes, Lanterns will team up when a task is too great for just one to handle on their own, which looked to be the case in a key sequence in Zack Snyder's Justice League. In that film's notable "Knightmare Sequence," viewers are given a look at a post-apocalyptic, potential future where the villainous Darkseid won and Superman succumbed to the Anti-Life Equation.

In the rubble of the Hall of Justice laid the body of Kilowog, the Green Lantern of Sector 674.

It was a very brief glimpse of the character as the camera quickly panned over him, leaving fans wanting a much better look.

HERE'S YOUR LOOK AT KILOWOG, POOZER

Concept artist, Jerad Marantz, who worked on the Snyder Cut of Justice League took to Instagram to post what seems to be the final version of Kilowog's design for the film. Check out the images below:

Marantz writes in his caption:

"Well we don’t see poor Kilowog for very long in Zack Snyder's Justice League. I had an incredible time working on him with costume designer Michael Wilkinson. Kilowag is one of my favorite DC characters and I’ve always wanted to see a version of him leaning more towards pitbull than pig. I hope we get to see this guy in action one day."

WILL FANS EVER GET TO SEE KILOWOG IN ACTION?

It certainly seemed like a major missed opportunity to not have a Green Lantern in the main cast of Justice League. Especially since the character has never really been done justice in live-action. There was an attempt made in 2011, of course, with Deadpool star, Ryan Reynolds in the lead role, but the less said about that movie, the better.

And there were so many to choose from: John Stewart, Jessica Cruz, Kyle Rayner. Heck, fans likely would've even taken Guy Gardner!

However, there is a Green Lantern television series in the works for HBO Max, and DC and Warner Bros. apparently still have their feature film, Green Lantern Corps in development. Not to mention the upcoming inclusion of John Diggle across five of The CW's Arrowverse shows. Fans will surely know that the series Arrow ended with Diggle picking up a green, glowing box that fell to Earth, hinting that the character will don the Green Lantern power ring and swear the oath.

There was even meant to be a cameo by GL, John Stewart in the Snyder Cut but studio execs pressured Snyder into cutting the appearance, so fans were left with a showing of Yalan Gur in the film's flashback fight with Darkseid, and the aforementioned corpse of Kilowog.

Even still, it seems Green Lantern fans will have a lot more on their plate in terms of content featuring these characters coming soon.
