Loki Disney+: Plot Details Teased With New Marvel Figure of Tom Hiddleston's Character

Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Marvel Legends Action Figure

Loki is set to push the MCU into brand new territory by exploring different variants of the God of Mischief while also setting the stage for the arrival of the Time Variance Authority (TVA).

Directed by Kate Herron, the series will showcase the return of Tom Hiddleston into the titular role, but there is a twist. The version of the character that the show will explore is the one that was introduced during the Time Heist of Avengers: Endgame, not the prime variant that fans know and love from the Infinity Saga.

Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but the official trailer suggests that the series will take a deep dive into multiple realities due to Loki's shenanigans during Endgame. This presents a prime opportunity for the series to expand the lore of the MCU in different ways while the alternate reality angle gives a chance to feature interesting scenarios taken from the Infinity Saga.

Loki will debut on June 11, meaning that marketing is now in full swing. Aside from two trailers, Marvel Studios also released a slew of official stills to drum up hype for the series.

Now, a new collectible has emerged for the time-based Marvel series.

As part of the reveal, plot details of Loki from the packaging was also revealed, confirming that the series takes place “mere moments” after his escape during Avengers: Endgame while also hinting at the existence of the “sacred timeline:”

“Mere moments after his escape during the events of Avengers: Endgame, Loki is apprehended by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) and arrested for his crimes against the sacred timeline.”

LOKI'S SHOW WILL PICK UP RIGHT AFTER AVENGERS: ENDGAME

It's no secret that Loki is one of the most likable characters in the MCU, and it's only fitting that he will receive his own series under the same name. This new figure featuring the anti-hero is a solid reminder of Loki's popularity, and the added tease of an intriguing premise from the packaging is a noteworthy bonus.

The figure shows off a different vibe for Loki, especially after the character is featured in an Asgardian look most of the time. This is one example of how the series will reinvent Marvel's trickster, and it's reasonable to assume that a unique side of the ambitious half of the Odinson brothers will be unveiled.

On a plot level, it makes narrative sense for Loki to kick off right after his escape from the 2012 timeline, and this could hint that this specific reality will be the first one on the list of TVA's mission. The presence of the “sacred timeline” could simply be a coined term of the TVA for the prime Earth, but there's a good chance that there is a deeper meaning behind it.

Throughout the multiverse, it's possible that the TVA is monitoring several sacred timelines, and the one that Loki messed up is one of them. This could explain why the TVA didn't pursue the Avengers during the Time Heist since the ones that they messed with weren't included in the aforementioned timeline group.

This is on top of the fact that Steve Rogers brought back the Infinity Stones to their respective points in time at the end of Endgame

Whatever the case, all will be revealed in Loki, and it is expected that the complicated existence of multiple timelines will be explained in a detailed manner.
