Marvel's Shang-Chi Movie Promotion Is On the Way

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is off to an impressive start, with the franchise's run on Disney+ bringing plenty of early success. However, even though MCU fans are clearly loving the efforts of WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in the streaming world, the wait still lingers for the MCU's big screen movies to make their grand return.

Thankfully, that wait seems to be coming to an end with the recent news that Black Widow will be releasing both in theaters and on Disney+ on July 9, coming as the first of four movies in the MCU in 2021. Now that this release schedule is set more in stone, Marvel Studios has plenty of promotional work to do on films not titled Black Widow.

The movie mogul is clearly well aware of this fact, as can be seen by their latest online release.

In a since-deleted social media post, Marvel's official Twitter page released a call to fans to ask questions to the cast of Marvel Studios' Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. This is part of a new #AskMarvel episode featuring actors Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Meng'er Zhang, and possibly more.

The full release read as follows:

The cast of Marvel Studios' "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings," including Simu Liu, Awkwafina, and Meng'er Zhang, will be answering YOUR questions on a new #AskMarvel episode! Tweet your questions now with the hashtag #AskMarvel and stay tuned.

Curiously, the Tweet was removed from Marvel's page within minutes after posting.

PROMOTION KICKING OFF SOON ON SHANG-CHI?

While it's unconfirmed why exactly this post was removed from Marvel's social media page, the most likely reason is that it was accidentally posted before its intended publishing. What may have occurred is that Marvel's publicity department, knowing that Shang-Chi will likely hit its September 3 release date, was scheduling social media posts in anticipation of marketing and promoting the kung-fu film.

On the bright side, this could be seen as a signal that Marvel Studios is gearing up the movie's promotional tour for the coming months, hopefully indicating a first look at the solo movie coming in the near future.

Marvel fans have been asking for months when anything official from the production of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings would arrive, especially since it is Phase 4's second theatrical movie. The only looks at this solo movie thus far have come through toy leaks and plot details leaking online, but the MCU fandom is somewhat insatiable with so many announced projects on the way.

As the schedule currently stands, Simu Liu's solo movie will debut in theaters in roughly five months. With this amount of time before its debut, it would normally be strange that Marvel hasn't released so much as a teaser trailer or even promo images to start the promotional tour yet.

All being said, this Q&A session seems to be the start of that promo tour by bringing three of the movie's stars together for one event. Whether this precedes anything bigger is still up in the air, but it's certainly opening fans' eyes and ears for more exciting news on the way.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will release in theaters on September 3, 2021.
