Star Wars Leak Reveals Runtimes & Details For First 2 Episodes of The Bad Batch

Star Wars: The Bad Batch

Warning — This article contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Bad Batch

After a long content hiatus, Star Wars: The Bad Batch is set to bring the galaxy far, far, away back in explosive fashion on May 4, 2021. The series will serve as the latest animated project under the Star Wars banner, and it will act as a spinoff to the recently-concluded Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The series is created by The Clone Wars showrunner Dave Filoni, and it will be set after the events of Order 66. This means that Star Wars: The Bad Batch will explore the adventures of Clone Force 99 after the Empire took over the galaxy.

Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but a recent leak suggests that one of the members of the squad will betray the team to join the Empire's cause. Aside from that, The Bad Batch will also showcase returning Star Wars characters such as Ming-Na Wen's Fennec Shand, Saw Gerrera, and Captain Rex.

With the show's premiere inching closer, a new batch of details has emerged.

Reddit user DiamondFireYT unearthed new details about the first two episodes of Star Wars: The Bad Batch on Disney+.

The leak revealed that the debut episode is entitled “Aftermath,” and it has a runtime of 75 minutes. The description of the installment was also featured:

“The clones of The Bad Batch find themselves in a changing galaxy after The Clone Wars.”

Meanwhile, the second episode is titled “Cut and Run,” and it will have a runtime of 31 minutes. The description was also included in the leak:

“The Bad Batch visit an old contact.”

THE BAD BATCH WILL HAVE A MASSIVE DISNEY+ DEBUT

While fans can take this with a grain of salt, this leak aligns with the earlier reveal that Star Wars: The Bad Batch will have a 70-minute premiere. Even though the description of the episodes is quite vague, it provides enough insight into the show's massive debut on the streaming platform.

Based on the debut episode's title, it looks like The Bad Batch will not waste any time in showing the state of Clone Force 99 after the tragic Order 66 event. The “changing galaxy” part of the synopsis is a fitting description of the episode since it gives an overview of the state of the world that the squad will deal with in the series.

Marketing for The Bad Batch confirmed the return of Emperor Palpatine, and it makes narrative sense for the overarching villain to be featured in the show's premiere episode. On a plot level, a Palpatine appearance could set the story of the series in motion, thus showing how he will be directly involved in the Empire's pursuit of Clone Force 99.

Unexpected character returns have been a staple of several Star Wars series like The Mandalorian, and it seems that The Bad Batch will follow the trend in the second episode. It has been revealed that the team will visit an “old contact” in 'Cut and Run.'

From Captain Rex to major figures of the Rebel Alliance, the possibilities are endless, and it will be interesting to see which guest star will show up in that installment.

Thankfully, the debut of The Bad Batch is inching closer, and all will be revealed when the show premieres on Disney+ on May 4, 2021.
