Star Wars Set Photos Reveal New Location For Andor Disney+ Series

The small screen universe of Star Wars is expanding with several shows poised to take deep dives into unexplored areas of the Skywalker Saga. One of the shows that will serve that purpose is Andor, a prequel that will be set before the events of 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

The series is set to follow the story of Diego Luna's Cassian Andor before his heroic sacrifice along with the rest of Rogue One in the events leading up to Star Wars: A New Hope. Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but it is expected to showcase the formative years of the Rebel Alliance while also tackling the Empire's reign in the galaxy.

Luna will be joined by a stellar cast of characters which include the likes of prequel trilogy's Genevieve O'Reilly, Stellan Skarsgard, Jimmy Smits, and Alistair Petrie. It is also heavily rumored that Ewan McGregor will join Andor's next adventure as Obi-Wan Kenobi

Production is currently ongoing in the United Kingdom as evidenced by various set photos that emerged online. Now, a new look at the much-talked-about Disney+ series has emerged, giving fans an overview of what to expect.

Twitter user Cleveleys News unearthed a new batch of photos from the set of Andor in Lancashire, England, showing off the first look at a location that seems to resemble a Cantina:

CASSIAN ANDOR'S DEEP UNDERCOVER MISSIONS FOR THE REBELS

This batch of photos is another prime example of the massive sets that were built for the show, thus further solidifying earlier reports that Andor will be grand in scale.

While the set photos don't reveal any plot details, it seems that this is one of the locations that will be used for Cassian's potential missions for the Rebels.

Given that Cassian is one of the leading intelligence officers of the Alliance, it's reasonable to assume that he will go undercover in this specific place to gather information that could help them gain an advantage against the Empire.

Special effects artist Neil Scanlan previously teased that Andor will have a vibe similar to Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and this could hint that Cassian will be involved in dangerous missions that could spell trouble for the titular character.

If this is the case, then it is likely that this new location will be home to intense sequences that will test the mettle of Cassian against the overwhelming forces of the Empire.

Andor also boasts numerous story opportunities. Given that the show that mirrors The Empire Strikes Back, this could hint that it will show some darker sides of the Rebel Alliance as well.

This has the potential to showcase a different take on the Rebels. Rogue One managed to tease that the Alliance is not inherently good, and it's only fitting that Andor will continue to explore this side of the group even further.

Andor is shaping up to be an exciting Star Wars project that could redefine previous elements of the Skywalker Saga like never before.

Andor is set to premiere sometime in 2022 on Disney+.
