Batman: Caped Crusader: First Look at New HBO Max Animated Series Revealed
A BRAND NEW BATMAN PROJECT
Polygon shared in a report that J.J. Abrams, The Batman director Matt Reeves, and Bruce Timm will produce a new animated series for HBO Max entitled Batman: Caped Crusader. The series was described as a “reimagining” of the Batman mythos.
The first look at the new animated series was also revealed, as seen below:
In a joint statement with The Hollywood Reporter, the trio teased that the series will be "thrilling, cinematic and evocative of Batman’s noir roots" while also expressing their excitement for its debut on the streaming platform:
“The series will be thrilling, cinematic and evocative of Batman’s noir roots, while diving deeper into the psychology of these iconic characters. We cannot wait to share this new world.”
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. described the trio's involvement as a "powerful creative partnership," admitting that it will once again "reinvent Batman and his iconic rogue's gallery:"
“This powerful creative partnership will once again reinvent Batman and his iconic rogue’s gallery with sophisticated storytelling, nuanced characters and intense action sequences all set in a visually striking world.”
