Black Adam: Dwayne Johnson Reveals New Image of Enormous DC Movie Set
Warner Bros. is slowly building the future of the DC Extended Universe, which will bring a franchise-record four new movies to theaters in 2022. Included in this group is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Black Adam, which has cameras rolling after going through more than a decade of development.
The classic DC anti-hero is set to see his first live action adventure alongside the Justice Society of America and more. While plot details are being kept under wraps for now, small teases have revealed looks at Hawkman’s Thanagarian Star Cruiser and even the first small glimpse at Johnson’s Black Adam costume.
These looks continue today straight from the movie’s star himself.
AN INSIDE LOOK AT BLACK ADAM
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson shared an image on Instagram from the set of Black Adam, which is set to release in the DCEU on July 29, 2022. Johnson included the following caption, giving a progress update on the production for the movie:
BLACK ADAM update.
Wanted to show you guys this cool shot of our enormous scale and massive production efforts at our sound stages.
Zoom in and take a look.
We’re hitting our midway point stride and our A-Team production crew continue to showcase why they’re the best in our industry. This is one inspiring production to be on. Post covid and back to work.
The hierarchy of power in the DC UNIVERSE is about to change.
DESTRUCTION INBOUND
It's difficult to say exactly what's happening in the movie with a set full of so much rubble and chaos, but it does look similar to the Egyptian tomb set that leaked a few weeks ago. Whether that's the case or not, it's clear that Warner Bros. is holding nothing back in terms of bringing the sets and action up to the usual DCEU standard of production and then some.
Considering how powerful Black Adam is, this should be far from the only location in the film that looks this disheveled once the anti-hero has completed his business.
Even more exciting is the update from Johnson about the team "hitting [their] midway point stride," potentially indicating a good portion of filming is already complete. With about 14 months until his first DCEU adventure debuts in theaters, there is still plenty of work to do, but it's fantastic getting an idea of how much is already done.
Black Adam is currently filming and will release in theaters on July 29, 2022.
