Justice League: Zack Snyder Shares First Look at Green Lantern Actor In New Photo
Zack Snyder’s Justice League may have clocked in at over 4 hours, but it still didn’t include everything.
One major member of the Justice League that was missing in both Joss Whedon and Zack Snyder's cuts was Green Lantern. Glimpses of other Green Lanterns appeared in Snyder's cut including Kilowag and Yalan Gur, but notable characters like John Stewart and Hal Jordan were noticeably omitted from the final product.
Snyder had originally intended for Green Lantern to appear in his film. The director even went as far as to shoot scenes featuring actor Wayne T. Carr as Green Lantern in his driveway, but the scenes ended up on the cutting room floor.

The scene was intended to be used in Zack Snyder's Justice League where Carr would have played John Stewart, but the scene was unfortunately cut by Warner Bros.

THERE'S A NEW CGI GREEN LANTERN SUIT ON THE BLOCK
This grainy phone image is possibly the closest fans will get to John Stewart's debut in Zack Snyder's Justice League. Like Green Lanterns before him, Carr wore a mo-cap outfit during filming so that his superhero suit could be created with visual effects.
Interestingly, it seems the VFX for this scene were actually fully completed prior to it being cut. The image shows Carr in Green Lantern's suit complete with a glowing insignia and ring, looking strikingly similar to his comic counterpart.
It looks like Snyder had completed his vision for Green Lantern in the film, but Warner Bros. came in with a last-minute veto to cut the character out. The reasoning behind this decision is unclear, but it could have something to do with the upcoming Green Lantern TV series the studio is developing for HBO Max.
That being said, if Snyder's Green Lantern scene is indeed complete, maybe there's hope for it to be released in full one day.
