Zack Snyder's Justice League: Blu-ray Cover Forgets Batman's Eye Makeup

Bruce Wayne Justice League

What can be said about Zack Snyder's Justice League that hasn't already been discussed at length?

Fans of course know by now that Snyder finished shooting the bulk of his Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice follow-up before a personal tragedy forced him to exit the project. Enter Joss Whedon, whom Warner Bros. hired to complete the film for a November 2017 release.

The end result was not what DC fans wanted, to say the least. Whedon had re-shot most of the film, condensed everything into a two-hour runtime and added many of his own “touches” to the finished film, while reportedly making working conditions very unpleasant for certain cast members.

When the HBO Max streaming service was launched last year, so was announced the infamous “Snyder Cut” of Justice League. It eventually premiered on March 18, 2021. Clocking in at a full four hours and being vastly different from Whedon's theatrical version, hardcore fans and even some critics were quite satisfied with Zack Snyder's Justice League.

THE JUSTICE LEAGUE ASSEMBLES.... WITH ONE SMALL OMISSION

Variant cover art of the 4K/Blu-Ray steelbook of Zack Snyder's Justice League has been revealed (posted by Twitter user TaurooAldebaran), and eagle-eyed fans might notice something missing on Batman's face. Yes, it seems as though Bruce Wayne forgot to apply his beneath-the-cowl eye makeup, as his eyelid skin is plainly visible. Check out the cover art below:

And here's the alternate side of the cover, which has already been revealed:

The steelbook is now available on Amazon in certain regions.

A LITTLE MORE TIME IN THE BAT-MAKEUP CHAIR FOR BRUCE?

Holy pale skin, Batman!

It is indeed puzzling as to why such a thing like this would be missing, especially given that these are long-standing pieces of promo art dating back to at least 2017. Maybe whoever was responsible for the cover graphics grabbed the wrong asset for Batman?

Still, it's a nifty looking steel book cover, especially the side that depicts the hands of each member of the Justice League with swords and tridents pointed to the sky.

Cries from fans still continue to #RestoretheSnyderverse as many clamor for a sequel to carry on Snyder's original vision for the Justice League film franchise.

The steel book for Zack Snyder's Justice League will be available starting May 24.
