Loki: Kang the Conqueror Actor Plays Coy on Rumored Disney+ Series Appearance

Loki Kang the Conqueror Jonathan Majors

A full week has passed since the first episode of Marvel Studios' Loki premiered on Disney+ and discussions are running rampant about its events amongst fans and critics alike. With Tom Hiddleston's lead being thrown into the madness of space-time shenanigans with the Time Variance Authority, there is no telling what the classic MCU anti-hero will find himself up to in the coming weeks.

Along with the TVA comes the introduction of the Timekeepers, described as three immensely powerful beings who are said to be "dictating the proper flow of time." This is bringing some intense theorizing about how the "proper flow of time" is actually laid out while also setting the stage for Phase 4's time-traveling/multiverse-jumping madness in future movies.

Thanks to so much talk about the three "space lizards," as described by Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief, fans have started theorizing on when a certain time-traveling supervillain could show his face in the MCU for the first time. Well, the actor behind that supervillain just added some fuel to that fire with his most recent quotes...

JONATHAN "MUM'S THE WORD" MAJORS

New MCU star Jonathan Majors spoke with Variety about his love of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, teasing his own future as Kang the Conquerer as well.

Describing the films as "Greek," he expressed his love and appreciation for the long-standing franchise, praising the way the movies put forth "the idea of fate and fantasy and future and legacy:"

"They’re Greek. The size of them. The things they’re dealing with. The idea of fate and fantasy and future and legacy."

However, when asked about rumors concerning his debut coming in Loki on Disney+, he played coy with a classic "I have no idea what you're talking about" response:

KANG WAITING IN THE WINGS

Although Jonathan Majors has yet to make his MCU debut, he joins a long list of MCU stars who identify as fans of the work put forth in the Infinity Saga and beyond. With 23 theatrical releases and two full Disney+ shows, all coming before the current run for Loki, Marvel Studios has set the standard for interconnected storytelling and world-building in conjunction with one another.

As for Kang making his presence felt in Loki, Majors is already proving to be a master at the game in which MCU stars reveal nothing about what's coming.

The teases for Kang's arrival are certainly evident considering his mastery of time-travel and the presence of the TVA. The presence of Gugu Mbatha-Raw's Judge Renslayer could also set him up well for a tease in this series considering their history in the comics, particularly with the actress' recent remarks on the duo.

Currently, Majors is confirmed to make an appearance in 2023's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is his only MCU project for the time being. However, the teases for his potential debut in Loki can't be ignored, and fans will be keeping a sharp eye out for any Kang-related teases coming in the next five weeks.

Considering that Kang is regarded as one of the most iconic villains in Marvel Comics, the fact that he could first appear on Disney+ is building hype to unseen levels.

Episode 1 of Loki is available to stream on Disney+, and Episode 2 is set to premiere at midnight PST on June 16.
