Doctor Strange, Spider-Man & More Alternate Reality MCU Heroes Receive Official What If Figures

Marvel, MCU, What If

Even though Loki has just finished up, Marvel Studios' next Disney+ adventure is right around the corner. This time, fans get to explore alternate timelines where events in previous MCU movies went in a vastly different direction. Plus, it's their first animated addition to their vast universe.

Thanks to Loki, the stage has been set to make Marvel's What If..? quite a special show. Many might think the show is going to amount to nothing more than some fun throwaway tales—those people would be wrong. There are already signs that some characters may crossover into the live-action MCU, not to mention the Guardians of the Multiverse teases in the most recent trailer

Thanks to Hasbro, Marvel fans can get a brand-new look at some of the characters showing up in What If...?, even revealing new takes on our heroes, such as Heist Nebula.

NEW WHAT IF...? FIGURES

In a recent livestream, Hasbro Pulse announced brand-new Marvel Legends figures for Marvel Studios' upcoming series What If...? on Disney+. Pictures of the announced line-up can be seen below:

First, there's The Watcher, a figure that collectors need to get pieces from all the other figures in the set in order to completely make.

Zombie Captain America shows up in all of his glory, bringing a bloody shield along with him. It's worth noting that the suit he is wearing is akin to one of his more modern-day looks, suggesting that the timeline of the zombie episode will be present day.

Then there's Zombie Hunter Spider-Man, a title that seems to confirm that Peter Parker will be one of the last surviving heroes when the undead plague hits.

Another image of Zombie Hunter Spider-Man shows that the figure comes with Doctor Strange's Cloak of Levitation, suggesting that the good doctor may not be alive by the episode's end.

Here is Doctor Strange Supreme, the dark version of Stephen Strange who is rumored to be the product of a rather tragic origin story

Marvel, MCU, Captain Carter, What If

Of course, this line wouldn't be complete without having Captain Carter, one of the first characters to be revealed on the show. It's also worth noting that her box is the only one to be branded with "Marvel's" preceding her name, a designation that seems to be reserved for live-action MCU characters.

This may add some weight to previous rumors about Hayley Atwell reprising her role in the Doctor Strange sequel.

What If, Marvel, MCU, Nebula
Hasbro Pulse

Here's Heist Nebula, looking as strange as ever. There's no telling what episode she will be in, but it could either be T'Challa Star-Lord's story, or Mad Titan Gamora's—or a completely different one altogether.

Finally, fans have T'Challa's Star-Lord, a character who will be the embodiment of Chadwick Boseman's last MCU performance.

All of the What If...? Marvel Legends line-up can be seen here in their boxes, with a guest appearance from Loki's Sylvie.

THE CRAZY WHAT IF TALES

Seeing all of these brand-new figures for the show certainly does reveal some interesting details. All of that speculating about Spider-Man and Strange's cloak certainly didn't lead to the idea that he'd be one of the last people standing in the MCU zombie apocalypse. Also, Nebula has hair?

First, it was WandaVision, then Loki, and now What If...?—the build-up to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is reaching atmospheric portions. The film seems to be promising an insane ride, countless fun cameos, and a true horror experience for the MCU.

Stephen Strange certainly has a lot of messes to clean up. That's not even including everything he will have to deal with in Spider-Man: No Way Home. With the constant multiverse rumors that surround Spidey's next adventure, it would seem like it will be another film that leads up to Strange's next solo outing.

But, for now, fans should focus on what's next: What If...?, which will air on Disney+ starting on August 11, 2021.
