Loki: Disney Reveals Spoilery Images From Season Finale
Warning - This article contains spoilers from Loki's season finale.
The penultimate episode of Loki saw Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief and Sophia Di Martino's Sylvie begin to venture into the unknown after successfully enchanting Alioth.
The smoke-monster watchdog of The Void kept pruned Variants from being able to see what existed beyond, but with it out of the way, the titular tricksters had no further barriers between themselves and the man behind the curtain.
The finale revealed all while also creating new questions. To celebrate the show's first season coming to an end, Disney officially released three new still images from the Loki finale.
NEW IMAGES FROM LOKI'S FINALE
For one last time (this season), new still images from Loki's latest episode have been released on the day of its airing.
The first image showcases Loki and Sylvie debating what to do with He Who Remains.
The titular tricksters draw their swords as they cautiously venture into the citadel.
Ravonna Renslayer deliberates with Miss Minutes inside her office at the Time Variance Authority.
JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY
The title of the season's penultimate episode is the best way to describe these images from the grand finale, "Journey Into Mystery."
After sending the TVA into chaos with a time bomb, confronting and killing the robotic Time-Keepers, escaping The Void, and slaying Alioth, the roadblocks between the title characters and the answers they desperately craved were no more. As the finale revealed, this mysterious castle is called the citadel, a home to Jonathan Majors' He Who Remains.
Yes, Majors is confirmed to be playing Kang the Conqueror in 2023's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but he is never once referred to by that name in this episode. In fact, the credits list Majors as playing He Who Remains, not Kang.
Similar to how Sylvie is a Loki Variant but goes by a different name, Majors' character is a Kang Variant but not the blue-skinned conqueror we will come to know soon enough.
Beyond the citadel stills, the Renslayer and Miss Minutes image provides an intriguing look into their dynamic. The fifth episode suggested Minutes was at the command of Renslayer, but considering her presence within He Who Remains's citadel, the obedient persona towards the TVA's resident judge appears to be a facade.
All six episodes from the first season of Loki are streaming now, exclusively on Disney+.
