Loki: Sylvie Actress Teases Things Getting Even Weirder In Episodes 5 & 6
Even as Loki approaches the end of its inaugural season, the series continues to up the stakes with big reveals and wacky side-steps. The latest episode dived deeper into characters, relationships, and the mythology of the world, setting up even more questions for the final two episodes to answer.
The series has also updated its publicity campaign following each episode's release, with new images, interviews, and prop reveals helping to supplement fan excitement.
Following this week's wild episode, stars from the cast have opened up to tease even more weirdness in the future.
SYLVIE ACTRESS TALKS ALL THINGS LOKI
Talking with Radio Times, Sylvie actress Sophia Di Martino touched on the future of Disney+ series Loki.
Responding to a question about the potential of getting more backstory on Sylvie in the fifth episode and finale, Martino mentioned that "Yeah. There’s a bunch more to discover about everyone, I think. Things are going to get probably even weirder."
Speaking to the weekly release schedule of Loki, Martino noted her happiness at the fan response to the "watercooler moments" made possible by the series:
"You have those watercooler moments, so you can regroup, and talk about what’s happened, and what you think is going to happen next, and what you want to happen, and what you don’t want to happen. People can get really excited about it, and it seems like that’s what people are doing. The engagement has just been totally overwhelmingly brilliant, so it’s great to see."
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM LOKI'S FINAL EPISODES
Based on Martino's comments, it seems Loki isn't done surprising fans yet. In fact, the weirdest moments are likely still to come. Co-star Tom Hiddleston teased something similar in an interview back in early June, noting that "episode four and five, the two together" are his favorite of the series, especially as they "expand into new territory."
The ending of Episode 4 lines up with these interviews, with Loki ending up in a strange new location and his understanding of the world and the TVA severely altered.
Martino's thoughts on the release strategy of Loki are also noteworthy. She praises the show for creating exciting questions and conversations via its episodic format.
However, even though Loki's sister shows, WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, succeeded with weekly releases, their final episodes received the lowest review scores of their respective seasons, possibly a result of the increased expectations brought on by the drawn-out release schedule.
To see how Loki navigates its season finale, fans will have to wait for the final two episodes to drop, with the penultimate entry in the series releasing on July 7, 2021 on Disney+.
