Marvel Confirms Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Will Return to the MCU
WARNING: This article contains spoilers for the MCU's Phase 4, including Black Widow.
Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 has set up exciting new stories from every corner of the MCU both on Disney+ and in theaters, already bringing characters that fans want more of in the future.
Thankfully, Marvel is already delivering on this front with examples like Black Widow, which recently ended the MCU's two-year theatrical drought with its arrival in theaters and on Disney+. The post-credits scene of this film featured the big screen debut for Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Valentina Allegra de Fontaine picking up right where she left off in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Other projects from 2021 like Loki and WandaVision brought the starts for other fan favorite characters playing key MCU roles, highlighted by top-shelf actors like Kathryn Hahn. After her nine-episode run in WandaVision, Agatha Harkness made quite the impact on the MCU fandom and left fans wanting more after Wanda seemingly trapped the villainous witch in Westview.
As it turns out, Marvel Studios' leader wants her character to come back into the fold as much as anybody.
AGATHA ALL ALONG...AGAIN!
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige spoke with Rotten Tomatoes about a potential return for Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness after her debut in 2021's WandaVision.
When asked when fans can expect to see Hahn again, Feige revealed that it will be "someday soon." Not giving any specifics, the MCU's top executive admitted that her comeback "can't come soon enough:"
"Someday. Someday soon. You will see Kathryn Hahn in Knives Out 2 next, then maybe an assortment of other things. But within the MCU, it can’t come soon enough. Let’s put it that way."
AGATHA NOT DONE YET
With fans desperately waiting to find out when Kathryn Hahn's villanous witch will come back to the MCU, it's nice to know that the franchise's fearless leader is looking forward to it as well.
Kathryn Hahn made quite the fun evolution in WandaVision from the couple's nosy neighbor to the series' primary antagonist. This was even highlighted by possibly the MCU's best original musical number, to which Hahn lent her musical talents, in which Agnes showed her true form as Agatha Harkness.
The series ended with Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff firmly keeping Agatha in Westview by forcing her back into the sitcom version of herself that Hahn portrayed so well through the first seven episodes.
While Harkness is definitively alive, there's no telling where she may return unless she finds a way to regain her magical abilities and find her way out of New Jersey. However, there seems to be a good chance that she'll make another MCU appearance, especially considering she has the backing of Kevin Feige himself.
All nine episodes of WandaVision are available to stream on Disney+.
