Star Wars Bringing Back Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni & More Mandalorian Directors For Boba Fett Show
The Mandalorian is one of the biggest Star Wars hits in a long time. While the sequel trilogy certainly had plenty of success, The Mandalorian attracted attention in ways that those films never even attempted to do. The show was so successful that it spawned multiple spin-offs, creating an inter-connected world of Disney+ series.
Of course, one of those is The Book of Boba Fett, a series that stars everyone's favorite bounty hunter who recently returned from the grave in the final few episodes of The Mandalorian's second season. Clearly, fans enjoyed his arrival back in the game.
The series is set to return at some point this fall. With filming having been completed, it's only a matter of time before fans get a look at what to expect from the show.
Until then, the lead actor of the show has a surprise for fans: the reveal of some directors returning to work on the spin-off show.
THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT'S RETURNING DIRECTORS
Temuera Morrison, star of The Book of Boba Fett, recently spoke with Express. During the interview, he revealed some interesting tidbits about the directors of the Star Wars world.
Morrison was quick to point out Jon Favreau, a man not only famous for his work on Star Wars but also that of his involvement in the MCU––namely launching Iron Man in 2008. Astonished by his work, Morrison praised Favreau, claiming that he "has come up with some magical formulas."
Of course, Favreau isn't the only creative force to be reckoned with, especially when it comes to those working on The Book of Boba Fett. Morrison happily exclaimed that "it's a new world..." after having listed many talented directors he worked with on his own spin-off series including "Robert Rodriguez, Favreau, Bryce [Dallas Howard], [and] Dave Filoni:"
"We've got some great directors onboard - Robert Rodriguez, Favreau, Bryce [Dallas Howard], Dave Filoni... It's just a new world! It's a new world. They like to keep the Star Wars stuff under [lock and] key."
The conversation then went back to Jon Favreau, whose experience with the ongoing Marvel Cinematic Universe aids his work on the many Star Wars projects. One benefit to all of that, out of many, is "[we] know where [the] storylines go."
"But, I think we're blessed in the way Favreau has all that Marvel experience, so we know where those storylines go. Let's see what happens... Let's put it this way: You're going to love it!"
BOBA FETT IS JUST THE BEGINNING
It's exciting to learn that some of The Mandalorian's best directors are set to lend their talents to the spin-off series. Some fan-favorite episodes of the series are the products of these talented artists––such as Dave Filoni's "Chapter 13: The Jedi" and Bryce Dallas Howard's "Chapter 4: Sanctuary".
For those hesitant about The Book of Boba Fett being a deviation from everything that The Mandalorian was doing, rest assured that the project has been referred to as season 2.5 of Mando's story. The Mandalorian is set to appear himself, after all.
With all the talent coming over from The Mandalorian, it's hard to see The Book of Boba Fett doing poorly, especially when the likes of Dave Filoni are involved. He arguably deserves way more power and control when it comes to the storytelling of the Star Wars universe.
