WandaVision: Elizabeth Olsen & Paul Bettany Nab Emmy Nominations For Marvel Roles

WandaVision Emmys

WandaVision earned critical acclaim when the show debuted on Disney+ while also launching the post-Infinity Saga chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Created by Jac Schaeffer, the Marvel series reunited Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany's Vision for another adventure, but with a different twist. Instead of fighting for the safety of the world, the pair ended up in a sitcom-inspired town of Westview, with both of them living an unusually perfect married life in the suburbs.

Given that this is a series set within the world of the MCU, not everything is what it seems, and it was ultimately revealed that this was a world that was accidentally crafted by the Hex powers of Wanda. After multiple twists and turns, WandaVision ended with the full-blown transformation of Wanda into the Scarlet Witch, eventually leading to her appearance in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

The unique format of WandaVision led to a passionate Emmy campaign from Marvel Studios, with the studio releasing For Your Consideration posters alongside Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Aside from that, reports also surfaced that the Emmy chances of WandaVision are looking good, with the forecast saying that the show is the frontrunner in categories like Best Limited Series or Anthology and Best Actor/Actress in a Limited Series or Anthology.

Now, it seems that the campaign for the MCU series paid off.

WANDAVISION'S EMMY NOMINATIONS

WandaVision's Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen have been officially nominated as Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for the 2021 Emmy Awards, respectively.

WandaVision was also nominated for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series for the Emmys.

Kathryn Hahn, who played Agatha Harkness in the series, also nabbed a Supporting Actress nomination for the Emmys.

The 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards will air on Sunday, September 19, 2021.
