Black Panther 2 Leak Reveals Shuri & Okoye Scene Details
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arguably has everyone's curiosity. After the passing of Chadwick Boseman last year, everything about the original concept for T'Challa's sequel film had to be re-written and re-evaluated.
Without T'Challa, what in the world would the next film look like? Well, for one, Shuri and Okoye are set to return and will likely play a larger role than they were going to before. Alongside them will be newcomer Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams aka Ironheart—a fact recently confirmed by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige during press for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
With all of that alone, things are shaping up. But with those three likely to be the lead cast members, what villain would be on their radar? Well, rumors are pointing to the introduction of Namor, and, to put it lightly, he's not the biggest fan of Wakanda.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has only recently gone into production, but fans can rest their eyes on a new glimpse at things happening on set on location at MIT.
SHURI AND OKOYE SEEN ON SET
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was recently shot at MIT in Cambridge, and thanks to The Cosmic Circus, fans now have descriptions of what was being filmed.
To start, the site was able to confirm that Dana Gurira's Okoye, Letitia Wright's Shuri, and Riri Williams were all on set filming individual scenes.
One of the scenes that were reported to the outlet is a simple one including Dominique Thorne, who plays Riri Williams, talking with another male, presumed to be a fellow student, before walking away and pulling out her cell phone/
While that was the only scene detailed, witnesses did see a Dora Milaje—which was separately confirmed to be Okoye herself—alongside a hooded figure walking outside a black Lexus. The person in the hood was seen talking to a crew member who appeared to be Ryan Coogler.
A HOODED SHURI IN WAKANDA FOREVER
A big thing to note is that actors are generally only put into those black robes if there is something to hide in terms of their wardrobe. So the fact that Shuri was the one under the robe is intriguing, at least. Could the clear confirmation of her ascension to Black Panther be lying in plain sight?
This isn't the first glimpse of the set for the film. Just recently, the in-universe fate of T'Challa may have been revealed thanks to a picture of an elegantly designed Wakandan room which included Wakandan text hinting at the former king's fate.
There's an endless string of questions in relation to just how in the world the MCU is going to deal with the sudden loss of T'Challa. Thankfully, fans are under a year away from getting all of those mysteries solved.
Photos from the set can be found here on The Cosmic Circus.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to premiere in theaters on July 8, 2022.
