Black Panther 2: New Set Photo Reveals Ironheart Actress at Marvel Production
The journey that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been through is a remarkable one. After the late passing of Chadwick Boseman, the future of the franchise seemed bleak. But Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Black Panther director Ryan Coogler pulled through and created something that they say would make Boseman proud.
Not many plot details are known. There are lots of rumors of Namor making his introduction, but no word on who may take up the mantle. But T'Challa's in-universe fate may have been inadvertently revealed thanks to a leaked set photo.
The biggest news about the film as of late was confirmation by Feige himself that Dominique Thorne would be making her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as Riri Williams aka the superhero Ironheart, ahead of her solo outing on Disney+.
AN IRONHEART SIGHTING
Thanks to Instagram user @howainedroma, fans now have their first look at Dominique Thorne's Riri William in full costume—just not her Ironheart armor.
Instead, the set photo shows the actor seemingly walking to set, as she gives a clear look at the cameras spying on her.
The photo can be seen below:
IRONHEART GOES TO SCHOOL
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been shooting scenes on location at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for a few days now, with set photos of other various scenes having made their way online. This is, however, the first visual of Thorne's Ironheart.
Given her outfit, it would seem at this point in the film that Riri Williams is still just a student at MIT. There's a very good chance she hasn't even created her Ironheart armor; which begs the question, is that something fans will even end up seeing in this film?
If the character is to play as large of a part in the film as rumored, then the chances are good that she will indeed end up creating the outfit.
The Direct writer Pierre Chanliau even theorized that her entire outfit will likely make a debut in the film as to put the expensive costs of creating the effects/rig/costume in relation to her character onto Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's budget, instead of the more limited one in which her Disney+ show will likely have.
Fans will find out next year, when Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is released on July 8.
