Marvel Reveals Post-Avengers: Endgame Movies Will Soon Get Featured on What If...?

Marvel, What If...?, MCU

Marvel has been on a roll with their Disney+ outings. WandaVision was their first, and its mystery and unique format made it an instant win for critics and fans. Then came Sam Wilson becoming Captain America in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and, more recently, Loki created the multiverse—needless to say, they're all very important to the MCU.

Currently, fans are enjoying the Studios' first venture into animation with What If...?. The debut episode centered on Peggy Carter's Captain Carter, with the second showing audiences a world where T'Challa became the legendary Star-Lord.

The show's premise is a really fun one, and Marvel has promised that the show's first season will be riffing off of various films up to Avengers Endgame. With the show getting a second season, it's only fair to ask one thing: will it incorporate any of the more recent Phase 4 projects?

In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant during press for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige touched upon What If...? and discussed how the show's second season will include films from the MCU's fourth phase.

Feige responded, saying "the fun thing about having the What If...? series now" is the opportunity to explore an alternate sequence of events for their library of products. As for the next batch of episodes, he confirmed that "season 2 [of What If...?] will definitely incorporate movies from Phase 4:"

"That's the fun thing about having the What If...? series now; we can explore questions just like that... And I will say, just as season 1 is tapping into films and storylines from the MCU that you've seen up to this point, season 2 will definitely incorporate movies from Phase 4.

WHAT POST-AVENGERS ENDGAME FILMS WILL MAKE THE CUT?

Marvel Studios Producer Brad Winderbaum recently gave an interview where he said that they were aiming for What If...? to become an annual thing. This means that on top of everything in the Infinity Saga, the show will have at least another six films and seven shows to pull from if it were to air next summer.

Black Widow has several neat deviations which the writers could explore. One of those could show what would have happened if Red Guardian was never permanently benched. The cascading effects would lead to him potentially going on to team up with the Avengers various times—or be their enemy, which would lead to that Captain America fight he keeps touting on about.

There's still some massive stuff that could be used from the Infinity Saga. For example, it doesn't seem like there is one focused on the events of Avengers Endgame. It would be awesome to see things play out if they didn't save the planet, or if Thanos actually won a second time—shaping all reality to how he sees fit.

Either way, the first season still has plenty to show fans; and audiences can watch it all unfold when What If...? drops every Wednesday on Disney+.
