The Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to introduce fresh faces in Phase 4, and one of them is Marc Spector a.k.a. Moon Knight. In the pages of Marvel Comics, Moon Knight is a street-level vigilante who assumes his powers from the Egyptian moon God Khonshu after a botched mission.

The new Marvel hero will be pushed to the forefront in his own Disney+ series, and the titular character will be played by Star Wars sequel trilogy actor Oscar IsaacMoon Knight was first announced as part of the MCU's Phase 4 slate back in D23 2019 alongside the reveal that Umbrella Academy's Jeremy Slater would serve as head writer.

The upcoming MCU series is currently filming, and it is eyeing a 2022 release timeline. Plot details of Moon Knight are still being kept under wraps, but it is expected that the series will explore the origins of the titular hero.

In addition, Ethan Hawke has been reported to play the show's main villain, but his exact role is still unknown. Now, it seems that a familiar face from the MCU will be joining Marc Spector in his upcoming solo adventure.

The Ronin shared in a report that Emily VanCamp's Sharon Carter will appear in Moon Knight, but the outlet pointed out that it's unknown if it will be for a brief cameo or in a larger role.

THE POWER BROKER VS. MOON KNIGHT

While fans can take this rumor with a grain of salt, it appears that Emily VanCamp's Sharon Carter is poised to take a larger role in the MCU moving forward. In many ways, this makes narrative sense due to the fact that the former C.I.A. agent has now been pardoned after the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

In the same report, The Ronin took note of the fact that Marc Spector once worked for the C.I.A. in the comics, and this could hint that Oscar Isaac's MCU character may have some sort of history with Sharon Carter. It's possible that Sharon has an unresolved issue with Spector and looks to seek revenge by targeting him.

On top of being pardoned, Sharon's status as the Power Broker also means that she now has a vast amount of resources. This could hint that she might have been aware of Spector's transformation into Moon Knight. There's a chance that she will try to recruit Spector for her own benefit, but will be rejected, thus leading to an eventual confrontation.

Sharon's involvement also fits the more street-level and grounded take on Moon Knight, especially considering the previous comments of Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige about the inclusion of heavy action in the series.

Moon Knight is set to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
