Andrew Garfield Reacts to Spider-Man: No Way Home Leaked Photos Following First Trailer Release

Spider-Man, Marvel, MCU, Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland

Spider-Man: No Way Home has taken over the lives of fans. Sure, Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings has come out and been extremely successful, but deep in everyone's heart, Spidey is still vying for the attention.

This was made clear thanks to the record-breaking viewership of the film's trailer, a number which trumped that of even 2019's Avengers: EndgameNeedless to say, people are excited about the film.

The trailer confirmed the appearance of several key villains from previous films in the various Spider-Man franchises, including Alfred Molina's Doc Ock. What the footage didn't bring up were all the rumors of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprising their Spider-Man roles for the film.

With the various villains showing up and all of those leaked photos, surely that means the two are in it, right? Well, Andrew Garfield has come out once again to try and convince the world that he is not going to be showing up.

In talking with Variety, The Amazing Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield continued to deny his involvement with Spider-Man: No Way Home. Garfield expressed his pride in being part of the Spider-Man lineage with Tobey Maguire and Holland and then proceeded to laugh off mentions of leaked photos while his face turned red.

According to the actor, "[he] understand[s] why people are freaking out:"

“I understand why people are freaking out about the concept of that because I’m a fan as well. You can’t help but imagine scenes and moments of ‘Oh, my God, how fucking cool would it be if they did that?’”

Garfield continued, saying that "it's important for [him] to say on record that this is not something [he's]... involved in:"

“But it’s important for me to say on the record that this is not something I’m aware I am involved in. But I know I’m not going to be able to say anything that will convince anyone that I don’t know what’s happening. No matter what I say, I’m fucked. It’s either going to be really disappointing for people or it’s going to be really exciting.”

Andrew Garfield Is Not the Werewolf

Andrew Garfield has had quite a track record for trying to convince everyone that he isn't in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It doesn't seem to be working as many still strongly believe he is showing up.

His previous comments about not being the Werewolf have become a joke among fans, with everyone not buying a word he says. It doesn't help that many Marvel stars are known for denying their involvement in projects even though they are, such as Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters in Disney+'s She-Hulk.

Is Garfield coming back? Fans likely won't know for sure until the film releases on December 17, or if Sony caves and shows any of this hypothetical footage in the film's second trailer. It would be a little strange to not have him appear if two of his villains are showing up with the same sentiment going for Tobey Maguire's return.

Fans only have to wait another three months to know for sure.
