Jason Momoa's Aquaman earned a massive box office haul alongside a slew of positive reviews from critics when it premiered back in 2018. Warner Bros. took notice of the film's success then, thus resulting in a sequel being greenlit in the form of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

James Wan, who directed the 2018 DC blockbuster, was confirmed to return for the sequel, and he will reunite with Momoa and the rest of the franchise mainstays like Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II

Plot details of the film are still being kept under wraps, but many fans have been speculating that the lost kingdom part of the title will likely lead to an exploration of an unknown region in the vast ocean.

Wilson, who plays the Oceanmaster in the franchise, shared that Wan's direction for the sequel is "bigger and better and broader," hinting that Aquaman could potentially discover newfound threats and allies along the way.

Production is currently ongoing for the sequel, and now, a major tidbit has emerged straight from the film's leading star.
