Star Wars Celebrates Daisy Ridley's Rey Skywalker With New Yellow Lightsaber Replica

Rey Skywalker Yellow Lightsaber

It's no secret that 2019's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the Disney sequel trilogy as a whole was somewhat of a disturbance in the Force.

While The Mandalorian on Disney+ brought balance back to the fan base, many Star Wars enthusiasts are still divided over certain aspects of the sequels, ranging from Rey's Palpatine heritage to how The Last Jedi handled the character of Luke Skywalker.

However, the sequel trilogy, and particularly The Rise of Skywalker, did conclude the nine-episode Skywalker Saga while also establishing that the Jedi would continue with Rey as she ignited her own unique yellow-bladed lightsaber before the credits rolled.

Like it or not, this was a significant moment in the saga; and now, Rey's unique saber has finally arrived in this galaxy.

A Black Series Force FX Elite replica of Rey Skywalker's yellow lightsaber is now available for pre-order.

Rey used Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber that Luke lost in The Empire Strikes Back throughout most of the sequel trilogy and even reforged the saber after it was broken for The Rise of Skywalker.

However, this yellow saber is uniquely hers and represents her future as a Jedi and her new identity as Rey Skywalker

The lightsaber itself is collector-grade and includes advanced LEDs. It's also worth noting that the box displays Rey's new assumed last name.

Even though Rey is now a Skywalker, the hilt of this saber reflects her own personal history as it was built out of materials from her quarterstaff. It also has a cloth handgrip that reflects how she fixed Luke and Anakin's lightsaber.

The saber can be twisted to ignite, but it also includes a button on the hilt to activate a blaster deflect effect and molten blade tip effect.

An Elegant Weapon for a More Civilized Age

While the original Star Wars trilogy only featured blue and green lightsabers for the Jedi and red for the Sith, George Lucas' prequel trilogy broke the mold by introducing other colored blades, particularly Mace Windu's famous purple saber

A yellow saber has long been rare within the Star Wars Universe, particularly in regard to the films, and was typically reserved for the Jedi Temple Guards as seen in Star Wars: The Clone Wars or Star Wars Rebels animated series.

However, they did appear from time to time in Legends and most recently in the comics with Luke Skywalker wielding the unusually colored blade

Still, whether or not fans love The Rise of Skywalker, lightsabers are an aspect of the franchise that the base can rally behind and especially a saber as unique and detailed as this.
