The Mandalorian Composer Ludwig Göransson Returning for Star Wars' Next Spin-off Show

One of the biggest elements of The Mandalorian's second season was the return of Boba Fett. The famous bounty hunter was last seen falling to his supposed death in the original trilogy, but as it turns out, he lived!

Oddly enough, after his return, the character has now had more on-screen time (in live-action) on the Disney+ show than he ever did when he debuted decades back. It was about time, seeing as Boba had hit cult status years back, and was many fans' favorite character.

Much to the excitement of many, Mando's second season ended with a tag that revealed the veteran bounty hunter was set to get his own spin-off series, which is set to air sometime later this year.

While there have been rumblings about how filming has gone, there haven't been any glimpses behind the curtain yet. It seems that the gears are turning for the show to finally make its way to the world, as work has begun on the film's score—one that is composed by Ludwig Göransson, a familiar face.

Thanks to the Film Music Reporter, it's now been revealed that Ludwig Göransson will be scoring Disney+'s upcoming Star Wars show The Book of Boba Fett.

Göransson previously scored The Mandalorian's first two seasons, so seeing him return for this project isn't much of a surprise. Previous projects of his include the likes of Fruitvale Station and Creed, and some of his upcoming work will be on Turning Red and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Having Göransson on board is great news for fans. His score brought a distinct personality to The Mandalorian, providing new pieces of music which have been raved about more than anything that had come out of the entire sequel trilogy combined.

It does bring up the question as to how different Boba Fett will feel in its own right. Either way, audiences will no doubt be thrilled with the results given Göransson's experience.

Now if only the show could just get here. There isn't an announced release date for the spin-off just yet, but there have been plenty of teases about Boba Fett's next adventure—including the famous bounty hunter getting a new look.

While the show is going to air sometime before 2022 rolls around, Disney did just announce a Boba Fett-focused special airing on November 12th in preparation for The Book of Boba Fett. While everyone waits for that, however, Star Wars fans can check out Star Wars: Visions, a new non-canon anime anthology that can give fans something to chew on in the meantime.
