WandaVision Star Shares Promising Update on Jimmy Woo's Marvel Future

Randall Park, Jimmy Woo

It's becoming safe to say that Marvel Studios' WandaVision kicked off both 2021 and Phase 4 of the MCU with a proverbial and literal bang.

Coming to life after an 18-month break in content for Marvel, the series brought new thrills and mysteries week after week with a lesson in American sitcom TV history as the main backdrop. In the plot, it led to Wanda Maximoff's full realization of her Scarlet Witch persona, while the show itself became hugely successful by topping viewing charts and winning Marvel's first-ever Emmy Awards.

Recently, news revealed that the series now has its own spin-off centered on Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness, although she's far from the only character fans want to see more of in the MCU from WandaVision.

Another fan-favorite actor also teased his own potential return, although it's not as definitive as Nosy Neighbor Agnes'.

Randall Park Hoping for MCU Return

Speaking with ABC 7 NY, WandaVision star Randall Park expressed hope that his character Jimmy Woo will get to come back for future MCU projects.

After regaining popularity with the fans for his run as the FBI agent in WandaVision, Park does think that "he will be coming back at some point," although he tempered expectations by saying he "can't guarantee that."

When asked if he would want  to come back as Jimmy Woo, Park was quick to say it would be a "no-brainer" and that it "would be a blast." He reconfirmed his love for the MCU character and hoped to share more of Woo's sweet nature with the world:

"That would be a blast. I just love playing the character. I love the fact that he is such a sweet person. I think the world needs more of that."

More Magic for Jimmy Woo in the Future?

Even after first playing a small role as Jimmy Woo in 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp, Woo found a new level of fame after his return in Episode 4 of WandaVision. His partnership with Darcy Lewis and Monica Rambeau, in particular, was a key aspect to the show's success, and Woo clearly took on a new level of authority by the mid-credits scene in Episode 9.

Specifically, Jimmy and Darcy had fans campaigning for an X-Files-style spin-off after their work deciphering Wanda's Hex, which both Park and Darcy star Kat Dennings supported as that news came to life.

While Park remains unclear about where he could show up next in the MCU, WandaVision set up more than one potential project that he could join. Most directly, he could continue his run in the Ant-Man franchise with 2023's Quantumania, and he could also use his WandaVision connections for roles in either Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness or The Marvels as well.

Regardless of where it may happen, Park appears more than willing to suit up as Jimmy Woo again, card deck and all.

Ant-Man and the Wasp and all nine episodes of WandaVision are available to stream on Disney+.
