Daredevil's Vincent D'Onofrio Reacts to Hawkeye Show Amid Kingpin Return Rumors
Marvel Studios is only a few days away from its fifth and final Disney+ series of the year, Hawkeye. The show puts Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton into the spotlight with his first solo project in the MCU. Teaming up with Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop as she begins her journey to Young Avenger-hood, the two master archers are in for quite the adventure in a post-Avengers: Endgame world.
Also, along for the ride will be Alaqua Cox's Maya Lopez, a master martial artist with near-photographic reflexes who will continue on to her recently confirmed Echo series following her MCU debut. She will add to the MCU's deaf representation, which started with Laruen Ridloff's Makkari in Eternals, although her arrival could mean more than just a thrilling new heroine Marvel Studios' ranks.
In the source material from Marvel Comics, Echo is known as the adopted daughter of Wilson Fisk, who has also been at the center of rumors pointing to an appearance in Hawkeye.
Actor Vincent D'Onofrio, who most recently brought Fisk to life on Netflix's Daredevil, has now offered his own reaction to the show's upcoming debut, which has the MCU fandom talking...
Vincent D'Onofrio Can't Stop with Hawkeye
Former Daredevil star Vincent D'Onofrio shared the latest TV spot for Marvel Studios' Hawkeye on Twitter. He also included a caption expressing his excitement to see what's coming in the MCU's fifth Disney+ show.
"This is going to be fun. I love these Marvel series."
Echo head writer Marion Dayre also took to her Instagram stories, via Reddit, to share an image from a fan featuring Cox's Echo alongside Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock and D'Onofrio's Kingpin from the Daredevil Netflix series.
To Kingpin? Or Not To Kingpin?
Vincent D'Onofrio's potential return as Wilson Fisk from the Daredevil Netflix series has been one of the hottest rumors surrounding Hawkeye for the past few months. Adding to these reports of D'Onofrio's comeback as the Kingpin of Crime is the fact that the star behind the rumors has been openly posting responses to news including the character and even helping to promote Hawkeye despite "not being involved."
Denying his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home is one thing, especially since he admitted that he would love to see Fisk and Peter Parker go toe-to-toe someday in the MCU. However, Hawkeye is a different beast altogether, since he's offered no confirmation or denial of his massive villain coming into the canon MCU for the first time.
In the end, fans can only wait to find out what actually happens with regard to Vincent D'Onofrio reprising Wilson Fisk in Hawkeye, although the possibility is very real after his latest quotes and those from Marion Dayre.
The first two episodes of Hawkeye will debut on Disney+ on November 24, 2021.
