Disney+ Celebrates MCU & Star Wars Expansion With New Trailer Promos

For fans of some of the biggest franchises out there such as Marvel and Star Wars, the creation of Disney+ was an absolute game-changer.

The Mandalorian was the first to hit the service, and it altered the course of the galaxy far, far away forever. Coming off of the lackluster reception for The Rise of SkywalkerThe Mandalorian's first season was hailed by many as some of the best Star Wars content to exist since the original trilogy.

In fact, the success of the show led not only to a second season but also shifted the direction of all of Lucasfilm's storytelling, with it announcing a new slate of nearly a dozen streaming shows to continue the universe's story.

As for Marvel, while its movies stayed on the same track, the addition of shows like WandaVision and Loki has allowed it to expand the MCU in ways not previously possible. Now characters can get the spotlight they would have never gotten, and corners of the universe can be explored that may have never been observed otherwise.

With the two-year anniversary coming up, Disney released snew celebratory promotional videos for the occasion, tackling its biggest franchises.

Disney+ Celebrates the MCU, Star Wars, & More

In celebration of being around for two years, Disney+ released two brand new promotional videos to celebrate the occasion.

The first thirty-second promo gives fans some new artwork featuring their favorite characters and shows.

It's great to see the likes of The Falcon and the Winter SoldierLoki, and The Mandalorian celebrated, but what's really curious is how WandaVision never made the cut. Elizabeth Olsen's first solo outing as Scarlet Witch ended up scoring Marvel Studios' its first Emmy, so one would think that it would get to take place in the celebrations.

Either way, both Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe are set to have a long life on the service.

For Marvel, Hawkeye will be closing out the year on the streaming front, a series marketing itself as the perfect Christmas story. After that, Marvel has a string of shows set to release in 2022, including She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel.

Star Wars also has its own show at the end of the year in the form of The Book of Boba Fett, a series that will follow everyone's favorite bounty hunter who made his return in The Mandalorian's second season. The following year will bring fans more Star Wars content than they've ever had at the same time, with shows such as Obi-Wan, Andor, and The Mandalorian's third season. Maybe even The Acolyte and Ahsoka will make the cut.

Fans can watch Hawkeye when it premieres on November 24, 2021, and The Book of Boba Fett when it hits the service on December 29 later this year.
