Guardians of the Galaxy Director Confirms Surprising Fact About Vin Diesel & Bradley Cooper

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is finally happening. After years of delays and lots of talks, the film has finally gone into production. By the time the movie hits theaters, it will have been six years since Vol. 2.

As easy as it is to focus on that fact, at least fans are finally getting the next chapter in the Guardians' stories. The last time the group was on screen was Avengers: Endgame, so it's about time they got the spotlight once again.

Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, and Zoe Saldana are all returning to reprise their iconic roles. Newcomer Will Poulter is coming on board as Adam Warlock, the figure teased in the final post-credits sequence in Vol. 2 all those years ago.

Sometimes it's easy to forget about two crucial people involved in the Guardians projects: Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper. Both provide important voice work; one brings Groot to life and the other is Rocket.

Neither ever do any marketing work, so their faces are hardly associated with the project. Apparently, they're so detached that neither of them has ever even been on set.

Vin Diesel & Bradley Cooper Have Never What?

In an Instagram post, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director James Gunn's response to a fan's comment revealed an interesting fact.

According to the director, "neither Vin nor Bradley have ever been on a Guardians set:"

"@arnav_gupta_1004 Rocket's acting and motion capture is always done by @thejudgegunn [Sean Gunn]. The voice is done by Bradley. Neither Vin nor Bradley have ever been on a Guardians set."

Rocket Racoon & Groot Nowhere on Set

It's crazy to think that, after all of these years, neither Vin Diesel nor Bradley Cooper has ever stepped on a Guardians of the Galaxy set. One would think that even if they had only voiced the characters, they'd have at least visited them once or twice.

More so than Diesel, Cooper has almost never truly talked about his time as Rocket Racoon. Despite how prominent the character is and his importance to the MCU, the actor bringing him to life couldn't be further from the role.

That's not bad, for the record, but it's certainly strange. With all the talk about Vol. 3 potentially being Rocket's movie, maybe Cooper will decide to stop by for a day or two and say hello to his fellow Guardians––especially factoring in how this will be James Gunn's last rodeo with the group.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits theaters worldwide on May 23, 2023.
