Hawkeye Disney+: New Clip Features Ant-Man & Hunger Games Costumers
Fans will be gifted with a two-episode premiere of Hawkeye on November 24, 2021, which has already been praised by most critics given early access. The trailer and marketing for the show certainly gave off a major Christmas vibe, taking place in New York.
However, fans knew about the holiday season ahead of the trailer due to numerous set photo leaks, including one showing someone dressed as Santa Claus. One particularly amusing set photo that reached fans was Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop coming across people dressed as The Avengers.
This is something that has now been given proper context in a newly-released clip from the upcoming series.
Hawkeye Scolding Kate Bishop in New Clip
Good Morning America shared an exclusive clip from Hawkeye, showing Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop walking through New York's Time Square.
As they walk through Times Square, they come upon people dressed as The Avengers, to the delight of tourists and locals. Bishop notes, "Hey, look, that one's you," only for Barton to quickly dismiss the notion, "No, that's Katniss Everdeen, let's go."
The young hero retorts, "Your problem is branding."
Seemingly tired of her, Clint bites back, "No, my problem is you and this ninja suit and the people that are trying to kill you because of this ninja suit. The whole thing is a problem that I'm going to solve today, so I can go home to my family."
The scene ends with Bishop reiterating after Barton's scolding, "No, it's branding."
The full clip can be seen below:
Clint Barton Less Popular Than Ant-Man
On the surface, the joke seems to be that Hawkeye is less popular than Ant-Man of all characters, despite being a founding Avenger. But as Barton mentions in this scene, his recently abandoned "ninja suit" is a problem. As for why people want to kill Bishop due to her wearing it, it likely has to be due to Barton going on a five-year murder-bender while wearing it.
It's apparent that Barton made a lot of enemies during his time as Ronin, and Bishop wearing his abandoned moniker's costume brought many of his enemies out of the woodwork, itching to get revenge. One of those likely people out for Ronin's head is Alaqua Cox's Maya Lopez.
In the comics, Daredevil was framed for the murder of Echo's father, but in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's likely that Hawkeye will take Matthew Murdock's role in her story in that he did kill her father in his murderous rampage as the masked assassin.
Time will tell when the first two episodes of Hawkeye are released on Disney+ on November 24, 2021.
