Marvel Studios Artist Teases the 'Crazy' Things In Chris Hemsworth's Thor 4
2019's Avengers: Endgame was a massive film that provided a nice sendoff for some of the original Avengers. Tony Stark made a heroic sacrifice, Captain America got his happy ending, and Black Widow saved the world. The three other OG members got to continue their adventures with Hawkeye going off to meet Kate Bishop in Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo's Hulk helping his cousin out in She-Hulk, and finally, Chris Hemsworth's Thor contending with a God killer in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Not much is known about the Thor sequel other than the Guardians of the Galaxy getting to show up at least for a brief moment and that Christian Bale is playing the antagonist in Gorr the God Butcher. There's also the matter of Natalie Portman's Jane Foster wielding Mjolnir, which is bound to make the God of Thunder at least a little jealous.
The film's director, Taika Waititi, has previously teased how the movie is so crazy that he is shocked he's even able to make it, a sentiment even others higher up in the Marvel Studios food chain agree with.
Thor's 'Crazy Wild' Upcoming Adventure
In an interview with Screen Rant, Marvel Studios' Director of Visual Development Andy Park was able to tease what fans can expect in Chris Hemsworth's next adventure: Thor: Love and Thunder.
The artist teased that "it was so much fun to work on and design so many characters and... keyframes," and he echoes director Taika Watiti's sentiments about how crazy the film will be:
"Thor: Love and Thunder fall right into that where it's just pushing the boundaries of what's comfortable and what should be expected. You'll be surprised and push these characters and the visuals go along with that. I think [Waititi] said it in some interview where he's just like, he's surprised that he's even, he shouldn't be allowed to make a movie like this. And I get it. This movie is crazy wild. It's so much fun. And I simply cannot wait for everyone to see it because it was so much fun to work on and design so many characters and do keyframes for. It's going to be a good one. It's going to be
The Craziness of Thor: Love and Thunder
A lot is going on in the MCU right now. Fans are just starting their Christmas adventure with Hawkeye and are only weeks away from the most anticipated movie of the year in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It's impressive that people can even put focus on other future projects given everything going on.
Then again, it's no surprise that people are still giving the God of Thunder's next outing plenty of attention given how successful Thor: Ragnarok was; for many, it was among the best MCU outings to date.
But what could make the film so crazy for it to be touted that way this many times so far ahead of its release? With Gorr and his God-killing ways on the table, there's a good chance that the project will see the introduction of countless Gods. This will give Watiti near-endless creative range to make up some crazy personalities––only for them to be slaughtered moments later.
The first look at Chris Hemsworth's next adventure might be closer than everyone realizes. Rumors indicate that there might be a trailer for Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness set to arrive in the near future, which would mean that a teaser for Love and Thunder could arrive as early as February.
Thor: Love and Thunder releases on July 8, 2022.
