New Spider-Man: No Way Home Poster Includes Captain America: Civil War Costume
With December 2021 drawing ever closer, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are well on their way to arguably the biggest movie of the post-pandemic era in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Although the promotional tour took what felt like an eternity to get going, it’s now going in full force with fans on the edge of their seats waiting for what this threequel will deliver.
As more footage from the Spider-Man epic makes its way to the public, fans are attempting to work out exactly how the plot will go while also waiting to see what surprises Marvel and Sony have in store. With tickets now available for purchase in parts of the world, the latest round of hype and anticipation appears to be here for good.
One part of this movie that's particularly exciting is the deep look back into Spider-Man's movie history, which even comes with Tom Holland's hero as well as Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's web-slingers. This may be the case even more so after a new round of posters took a look back at MCU Spider-Man's earliest days.
New No Way Home Posters with Two Spidey Suits
Movie critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share two new Spider-Man: No Way Home posters that come from Sony Pictures Entertainment India.
The first poster shows Tom Holland's Peter Parker in his Iron Spider armor alongside Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange. The two hover over a Multiversally-skewed New York City as Doc Ock's arms are positioned in front of them.
The second poster utilizes the same image, although this one swaps Spidey's Iron Spider suit for his Stark-developed underoos, first seen in Captain America: Civil War.
Spider-Man's Earliest MCU Days Revisited
Spider-Man made his first mark on the MCU in 2016 when he teamed up with Tony Stark against Steve Rogers in Captain America: Civil War. This came with Tony gifting Peter his first true superhero suit before the airport battle in Germany.
The suit was a staple of Spider-Man: Homecoming and has made cameo appearances in both Avengers: Infinity War and Spider-Man: Far From Home before Holland upgraded to his red-and-black suit at the end of his second solo movie. The big question now is if the Civil War attire will actually find its way into the plot of No Way Home, especially with at least four other suits already in play in the Multiversal epic, or if it is just being used for marketing purposes.
Captain America: Civil War set Tom Holland's hero on an exciting path in the threads department with his iconic red-and-blue look coming to life from the moment he thwipped away Captain America's shield overseas. Whether it makes another appearance in No Way Home is a mystery, but at this point, any and all surprises should be expected to some extent.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will swing into theaters on December 17, 2021
