Seth Rogen Really Wants an Eternals & Spider-Man Character Crossover Now
Chloé Zhao's Eternals is finally in theaters worldwide; her epic cosmic vision has been realized and is now ready for audiences to enjoy. Well, some of the audience.
Initial reactions to the film were fairly positive, but since then, Eternals has become the very first rotten MCU project on Rotten Tomatoes. It isn't all bad though, as the fans seem to be far more welcoming to the latest MCU affair.
Either way, the movie is set to make decent box office numbers in its opening week. While it might not match or exceed Marvel's estimated totals, it's far from the flop that many might see it as.
Among the people that saw Eternals opening weekend is actor and comedian Seth Rogen, whose praise of the movie led to hope for quite an interesting crossover between Kingo and a very particular Spider-Man: Homecoming supporting player.
Seth Rogen Goes Eternal(s)
Actor/comedian Seth Rogen posted his love for Marvel Studios' recently released film Eternals, mentioning how he "really dug [it]" on his Twitter feed.
Specifically, the actor pointed out how great it was that both Eternals star Kumail Nanijani and actor Martin Starr (who played comedically awkward high school teacher Mr. Harrington in both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home) are now in the Marvel world, saying that he's "happy we can now have an MCU scene with [those] two."
The tweet also included a GIF of the two actors from the HBO comedy Silicon Valley, a project in which Nanjiani and Starr previously co-starred:
Nanjiani bluntly responded to Rogen's Tweet with a "cc:@MarvelStudios," hoping to manifest what would surely be a hilarious MCU character interaction.
Seth Rogen Next In Line for Marvel?
Sometimes, it's easy to forget how so many famous celebrities happen to watch many of the same films that the masses do—in this case, the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At least this time around, the Marvel targeted tweet was a positive one.
With Rogen expressing his enjoyment of Eternals, there's only one question to be had: when is he coming on board the MCU train? He could possibly pull off a good MODOK—though Jim Carrey might already have that one covered.
He could also easily be one of the dozens upon dozens of Eternals who exist in the obscure fringes of the Marvel Comics continuity. After all, if a sequel to the film does get green-lit, there's no way that fans won't be getting more exotic cosmic characters.
Eternals is now playing in theaters worldwide.
