Spider-Man: No Way Home: Fake Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield Promotion Spotted on Theater Sites

Spider-Man: No Way Home continues to make headlines before its release, which will be the biggest MCU theatrical debut in quite some time. With at least five confirmed past Spider-Man movie villains making their MCU debuts along with rumors of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield playing Spider-Man again, the hype is quickly building to a fever pitch.

Part of what's built up so much anticipation is the movie's rollercoaster of a promotional tour; that tour only started in late August, and, due to so many leaks and rumors, it's been sporadic at times regarding the release of information about the film. This included the movie's official posters that only were revealed to the public in early November, which meant that movie theaters took some drastic measures to help promote the threequel.

Some theaters have resorted to using fan-made posters in their hallways for moviegoers to enjoy, many of which have Maguire and Garfield's web-slingers standing beside Tom Holland's MCU hero. As the movie draws closer to its debut, this trend is continuing online from multiple theater chains.

Multiple movie theater ticketing sites started using fan-made posters and thumbnails to help promote Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: No Way Home. The websites are even using images of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Men in the ads.

The CMX Cinemas chain of theaters has Tom Holland's MCU Spider-Man in the center with Garfield's hero on the left and Maguire's on the right.

Indian movie chain Inox Cinemas made some updates to the first official poster for Spider-Man: No Way Home by adding images of Maguire and Garfield's heroes into the image alongside Holland in his Iron Spider suit.

No Way Home Marketing Using Maguire and Garfield

For two characters that aren't even confirmed to appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the two previous live-action incarnations of Spidey are enjoying their time in the spotlight for this film.

Since rumors about the two heroes' inclusion in the MCU threequel first came to light nearly a year ago, their casting has been arguably the most talked-about rumor surrounding an already massive movie. Insiders have teased potential plotlines about how they may make their presence felt, although there's no telling what will actually happen when No Way Home fully arrives.

From fans predicting that they would appear in trailers to Garfield himself avoiding the topic at all costs, it's becoming clear that the potential Spidey team-up in this movie will continue to be all over the news streams. Although it seems more likely to happen than not, nobody will stop talking about it until it officially comes to life.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will swing into theaters on December 17, 2021.
