Spider-Man: No Way Home Star Acts Confused About Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield's Trailer Removal
Over the past few days, almost nothing in the world of movies has garnered the same attention or discussion as that surrounding the second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home. This trailer got so big over the past few weeks that Sony and Marvel pulled together an entire fan event for its debut, and it didn't disappoint for one moment.
This new look at the third MCU Spidey film helped give more detail to this movie's expansive story, which will see Peter Parker and Doctor Strange's first true encounter with the Multiverse after Mysterio's fake teases from Spider-Man: Far From Home. Doors to other universes will be opened, which will see powerful villains from past Spidey movies like Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin find their way into the MCU.
While the villains from No Way Home were the clear MVPs of this trailer, questions are still running rampant regarding the possible inclusion of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Men in this threequel.
The two past web-slingers found their way into discussions about the movie's second trailer even after not physically appearing in it at all. After the trailer's premiere on Tuesday night, fans were quick to point that one of the slo-mo money-shots featuring Electro, Sandman, and Lizard appeared to have edited out Maguire and Garfield's web-slingers. Now, a recent reaction video filmed by the movie's three leading stars has offered more evidence that CGI trickery was at play with the teaser.
Holland Shocked at No Maguire or Garfield?
In the reaction video to the second Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer made by Tom Holland, Jacob Batalon, and Zendaya, Holland expressed confusion near the end of the trailer.
Immediately after Garfield's Electro and Lizard and Maguire's Sandman came into frame, Holland started to ask "Where's the..." before stopping himself from revealing any information about the story. This led fans to believe that Holland was realizing that Sony had edited Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man out of the shot with him in it.

Sony Fooling Holland and All Spidey Fans
Tom Holland has a well-known history of spoiling certain parts of the MCU movies in which he's starred, even though it hasn't been as much of a problem for more recent movies. Even so, seeing him holding back so much during a trailer for a movie with so many potential spoilers will be something that draws attention no matter what the secret may be.
Almost immediately after the trailer was released, fans noticed small editing errors that are most likely indications that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are a part of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
One of these was a shot of Rhys Ifans' Lizard taking a punch to the face even though Holland was the only hero in the shot and was a good 15 to 20 feet away from the scaly villain. Fans also noticed a strange floating arm near Zendaya's MJ before she fell to her possible doom, which was believed to be that of Maguire.
Maguire and Garfield's comebacks as their respective web-slingers has been the talk of the No Way Home fandom for the better part of a year, although Sony decided to keep the official confirmation for their casting a secret for now. These rumors won't stop for a minute over the coming weeks, and fans will be paying close attention to Holland regarding the matter for any more potential slips.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will debut in theaters on December 17.
