With three of Marvel Studios' four 2021 movies having released, the focus now turns to arguably the main event of the year in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Following months of internet-breaking teases highlighting the first signs of the Multiverse breaking, this threequel will be front and center likely every day for the next few weeks.

The stories behind No Way Home's production and promotional tour are becoming the stuff of legend in the world of comic book movies.

This started off with leaks and rumors teasing the inclusion of Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange before everybody from Jaime Foxx's Electro to Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus joined the mix. Couple that with an unexpected delay to the promotional tour, and Marvel and Sony have found a way to make No Way Home the talk of not only the CBM community but the entire movie-viewing public.

At the moment, fans are waiting anxiously for the second official trailer that will hopefully tease just enough material from Spider-Man: No Way Home to keep the conversation going. Now, the studios are taking another big step forward in anticipation of this movie debuting worldwide next month.

No Way Home's Box Office Run Begins

While this news doesn't reveal any new information pertaining to the movie itself, it begins the excitement officially for what Spider-Man: No Way Home could do at the box office.

All three of Marvel Studios' theatrical releases in 2021 have opened at the top of the box office charts, as the MCU now has three of the top four opening weekend returns of the year. It's become clear that the Marvel Studios machine is continuing to chug along as fast as ever, even given the difficult circumstances of the pandemic, and arguably none of them had the anticipation that's come with Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Tickets for No Way Home will likely become available for pre-order across the world over the next couple of weeks, which should be a good indication of how big the film will be at the global box office. With this movie already regarded as the biggest Spider-Man movie of all time, it will almost certainly be one of the year's premiere events financially as well.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will debut in theaters on December 17, 2021.
