Spider-Man: No Way Home Update Reveals Disappointing Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield Trailer News

Seemingly with every passing day, Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man: No Way Home finds a way to make internet-breaking news ahead of its December 17 release. From another new poster promoting the movie's debut to the constant discussion about who will make their way into the story through the Multiverse, the movie's promotional tour has taken on a life of its own.

Currently, the hype surrounding the movie is building thanks to the recently-announced fan event in Sherman Oaks, California that will hold the debut of the movie’s long-awaited second trailer. After the initial teaser shattered viewing records with the first full look at Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus and teases for other villains like the Green Goblin, fans have pondered for weeks what the studios would deliver next.

Largely, this has centered around the chance of seeing Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men fully realized next to Tom Holland as they take on a handful of Multiversal bad guys. However, it appears that fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see that game-changing moment.

Reliable scooper Daniel Richtman stated on Twitter that it's "very unlikely" that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Men will appear in the second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is set to premiere the evening of Tuesday, November 16.

"Very unlikely Tobey and Andrew will be in the second trailer"

Only One Spider-Man in New Trailer

Rumors pointing to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's returns as Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home have been the talk of the MCU community for the better part of a year. From reportedly leaked photos teasing the two stars in the movie to Andrew Garfield repeatedly answering questions on the matter, this is clearly a topic that will not fade into the background until long after the film releases.

Reports had even detailed how Marvel and Sony were deep in debates about whether to actually include Maguire and Garfield in the second trailer or save their inclusion until the film releases. This rumor seems to indicate that the two studios have chosen the latter of those decisions, which only increases questions toward what actually will be shown to fans.

The first trailer largely highlighted Peter Parker's struggle with his identity crisis and teased Doctor Strange's magic before showing small hints of what will happen when the Multiverse eventually breaks. Regardless of what comes, whether Maguire and Garfield show up or not, it will be an event unlike any other in MCU history.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will debut in theaters on December 17, 2021. The movie's second trailer will premiere on November 16.
