Tom Holland's Spider-Man: No Way Home will soon hit cinemas. With several trailers out, interviews with cast and crew slowly starting to be released, and tickets now on sale, the press tour for the third Spider-Man movie in the MCU - which many hope to include other Spider-Man mainstays such as Venom - is already in full swing more than two weeks out from release.

No Way Home is set to have a record number of Spider-Man villains in one live-action movie and maybe even a record number of Peter Parkers as well. On top of that, Sony producer Amy Pascal confirmed more Spider-Man movies set in the MCU with Tom Holland in the title role are on the way

Even so, fans are hoping for much more to come in the future of their favorite web-slinger on the big screen, including the possibility of seeing other Spider-Men like Miles Morales appear in future movies or Sony Marvel Universe favorites like Venom cross over into the MCU.

Now, a new interview had shed light on both of these possibilities.

Miles Morales or Venom in MCU's Spider-Man Lore?

In an interview with Fandango, Sony producer Amy Pascal was asked about the possibility a battle between Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Tom Hardy's Venom in the MCU and the debut of a live-action Miles Morales.

Pascal explained that the story at the core of each film comes before other aspects like villains are chosen for it, so the creative team "always [has] to start with that," as at the end of the day, Spider-Man movies "are always just stories about a kid."

"I would say there's so many things that we're going to be able to explore, but what we always have to do before we decide who the villain is going to be and what Spidey goes up against is what is the story we're telling about? You know? What's the Peter Parker story we're telling? What's the Miles Morales story that we're telling? But we always have to start with that. The good thing about these movies is as big as the canvas they take place on can be, they are always just stories about a kid."

Pascal also touched on the core of Peter Parker's character, describing him as "just a kid from Queens who's got no money and wishes he could have a normal life:"

Fandango: "Just a kid from Queens…"

Amy Pascal: "Just a kid from Queens or Brooklyn, in the case of Miles, right?"

Fandango: "Of course!"

Amy Pascal: "In the case of Peter, he's just a kid from Queens who's got no money and wishes he could have a normal life."

Does Next Logical Step for Spider-Man Include Venom?

Spider-Man: No Way Home is going to include a lot of villains, so with the announcement of a new trilogy for Tom Holland's Peter Parker, fans are obviously wondering who will be the MCU Spider-Man's next foe. Given that the Venom: Let There Be Carnage post-credits scene showed Tom Hardy's Venom and Holland's Spider-Man existing in the same universe, this could be an easy answer to this question and a way to unite the MCU and SMU.

However, it is important to remember that just because a villain appears in No Way Home, they are not ruled out of coming back in a different form in a future film, especially with the introduction of the Multiverse and Variants to the MCU. While Green Goblin, for example, will be in No Way Home, Oscorp could be a great element to introduce in the next Spider-Man trilogy, especially if Marvel Studios decides to make that company the new owners of the former Avengers Tower.

Passing the Spider-Man Torch to Miles Morales?

With Tom Holland recently saying he may not want to play Spider-Man forever, it's likely that - like other MCU characters whose actors have retired from the franchise - the mantle will be passed to another character when that time comes. While the door is now open for Variants of characters, including Peter Parker, Miles Morales is a Marvel fan favorite and seems like the obvious choice for the MCU's next Spider-Man.

It might be interesting for Miles to appear alongside Holland's version of the web-slinger at first, to take advantage of any story opportunities that would be best with the two working together. It would also be a way for Peter Parker's story to come full circle; first being mentored by the likes of Iron Man and finishing his time in the MCU by being a role model for the next Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: No Way Home opens in cinemas on December 17, 2021.
