Tom Holland Reacts to New Spider-Man Trilogy News

Tom Holland Spider-Man Trilogy Villains

Spider-Man: No Way Home is all anyone can talk about right now. The upcoming Spidey threequel looks to be the biggest of the Tom Holland-era of wall-crawling epics, with the inclusion of villains from past Spider-Man movies making their way into the MCU for the very first time. Pair that with the potential for the likes of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to suit up as their iterations of the iconic Marvel hero once again, and it's easy to see why this could be the biggest movie of 2021.

As it turns out, fans were not all talk in hyping this one up. Ticket preorders for the film have crashed multiple ticketing sites worldwide, and caused a flush of No Way Home tickets to appear on the second-hand scalpers market

Not just tickets being made public have the movie-going world talking. To celebrate the big Spider-Monday, producer Amy Pascal made it known that a new deal with Tom Holland has been made to continue playing Peter Parker within the MCU, resulting in a likely second trilogy of MCU Spidey movies with the actor.

With this announcement, it was only a matter of time before it was brought up to the man himself.

In an appearance on French talk show QuotidienSpider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland was asked about reports of him appearing in a second trilogy of MCU Spider-Man films.

The young actor says this news spells "very exciting things"  and a "bright future ahead," but he"[doesn’t] know what those things are" or what they could mean as of right now:

“Next question... Listen, all I’ll say is we have some very, very exciting things to be talking about. I don’t know what those things are or what they will transpire to mean. But it looks like it’s an incredibly bright future ahead, and as I’ve said before, Spider-Man will forever live in me.”

Spidey's as Excited as We Are

It's hard not to love Tom Holland. The Spider-Man: No Way Home actor has so much enthusiasm for what he does, and it is immediately evident from the grin on his face when asked questions like this.

Sure, he plays coy here, and perhaps he doesn't have even a brief idea of what the MCU and Sony brass have planned for Peter Parker on the big screen. Despite that, he has this giddy energy about him every time Spidey gets brought up in conversation.

In the past, Tom Holland has not been the best at keeping his lips sealed regarding future MCU plot points. If Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige have actually not shared exact specifics with the young star, they may have justification in doing so. However, it is hard to believe that with him being confirmed to be coming back, they have not shared even a brief overview of what is coming for Peter and his crew.

Does this mean that audiences are finally going to see this version of the web-slinger navigate his way through college? Or could an introduction of a live-action Miles Morales be on the horizon? It is anyone's guess now, and Holland (who has gotten better at keeping a secret, it seems) is going to be the last one to tell the Spidey faithful if that is the case.

Fans can get their latest taste of Holland's humble hero when Spider-Man: No Way Home swings into theaters on December 17.
